Grungy Stuff and Christmas !? by Ellie Knol

Ellie here today.. 

this is a style I don't do often. The star and the circle gave me an idea: creating a christmas card with non-christmas stamps.



The background was created with a roll-off of a brayer with Fresco Finish paints and infusions while gelliprinting.

It took me quite some time to figure out the composition and also the placement of the colored stamped images. 

In the end it took six stamp sets to finish the collage of stamped images. 

I especially like the look of the faux-tissue tape,
and the blue of the background peeping through. .

A Christmas Flip Flop Book

Good morning and happy Sunday. It's Sue here and I'm happy to be sharing another Christmas project with you, a flip-flop book. We've recently had a new release of fabulous, fun, Winter/Christmas stamps, so I was keen to try them out, and there's also some old favourites in here too. I've made a pre-cut flip-flop book before, but never one from scratch. I started with a piece of A3 black card and drew it out. All of the squares are 3.5 inches (I've very old school, non of this metric mullarkey) This was the largest I could get on the card and still have an easy to see measurement. I then cut this out with my old Fiskars trimmer. For my first layer I cut 10 pieces of blue patterned paper and gessoed the edges. These are all 3.25 inches Then I cut 10 pieces of watercolour card into 3 inch squares. That's it now, no more measuring thank goodness! Now for the fun part! Tutorial Tuesday - A Mini Album by Sue

Good morning and happy Tuesday, it's Sue here with my tutorial for my very easy to make mini album. Here's the front and here's the back.   I started by cutting the pages for my album. I've used the Eileen Hull passport die as I think this is a fab size. Plenty of room for your images but not so big as to be intimidating. I've used chipboard for my covers, and a mixture of black, white, and watercolour card for the pages.   I've used canvas for the binding as this is really tough and flexible. I've inked it up with Distress Inks just using the primary colours, that way where they meet they will make new colours and not mud. I know you probably know this but it took me years of mud before I really got it!   Just look at the size of this Music  stamp, it's a real whopper!
