Textured Mushrooms Mixed Media Tags with Foiling

Image
Hey Rubber Dance Friends, I have mixed media tags for you again today.   The base is, ok, as always, a gel print. This time I made the tags out of corrugated cardboard, which gives a lot of stability. In addition, you can use shipping packages / cardboard boxes for this.  For the background I also used the FabFoils from WOW! Embossing for the background, do you see the incredible shine? The foils are available in so many different colours, here I chose white and gold. I first stamped the mushrooms on thin grey chipboard and cut them out. Then I stamped the hats of the mushrooms on gel prints and cut them out. This technique is called paper piercing. It's very cool, isn't it? I hope you like them :)  Happy Crafting and a wonderful weekend. Do not miss our next Rubber Dance Moodboard tomorrow, it's fabolous and lots of so so beautiful inspirations for you. Monochrome Art Journal Page by Angie Coomber

Image
Hello arty friends, how are you all? Today I have a monochrome page for you, I love how a little bit of colour on a black and white page really pops. For this I used my black Dylusions journal and painted a rough white background, leaving some black around the edges which will help frame the page. Next some mark making, using background stamps and assorted junk (bottle lids, old credit card, paint brush, Lego bricks...) After that I added some black background stamping, working from the black area into the edges of the white, which softens the contrast a little. I created a frame in the centre of the page using some paper strips and added a little bit of background stamping. Now for the fun bit: chose a bright colour that will provide a contrast to your black and white background. I particularly like pink for this, so I added pink marks, pink splatter and some doodling. I stamped the girl and clouds from the "What a girl wants" set, coloured them in and glued them into the f

Mini Art Journal - Creating a double page with Farida

Image
Hello Rubber Dance Friends, it's me Farida :) Remember my post from end of March where I showed you how I created the cover of my new Rubber Dance Mini Art Journal? I have created my very first page and made some photos to take you along my process. I started with stamping the grungy butterflies from the Grungy Butterfly #3  and Grungy  Butterfly #1  with an alcohol friendly ink pad, so I could colour them in with my alcohol markers.      Before I started colouring I had a look at a colour wheel and choose a triadic colour combo with purple, green and orange.  I decided to keep orange and green for my background and purple for the butterflies. For the background I went with my favourite and easiest method...just smudge some distress oxides inks in green and orange on my craft mat and dipped and smudged the journal page on it. Afterwards I added some green splashes over it.    As you see I added some more interest to the background.  I stamped some leaves from the Inky Fl

Colorful art journal page by Lisa Rabellino

Hi friends!  Lisa here with you and I'm happy to share another art journal inspiration for Rubber Dance design team with some fabulous stamps and acrylic paints!  To start I glued some pieces of an old book page and after that I brushed a coat of clear gesso. Then I took some acrylic paints and I rubbed them on my page directly with my fingers....I love so much feel the paints on my fingers and get them dirty when I work on my art journal!  I let the colors dry very well so I brushed white paint to give more interest on the background. After that I made some stamping with archival inks. Finally I glued a butterfly that I stamped from Inky Friends set and I made some splatters with black liquid paint I used these products from the shop: https://www.rubberdance.de/big-sheets/inky-friends/#cc-m-product-14383086833 https://www.rubberdance.de/big-sheets/pencil-marks-1/#cc-m-product-14435192433 https://www.rubberdance.de/small-sheets/journal-words/#cc-m-product-14204763033 I hope you en

Tag with Flowers Gone Wild by Toni Tickner

Image
Hey everyone, Toni here. Today I have made a tag using Flowers Gone Wild stamp set, definitely a fave of mine  This tag started off with lots of Gesso and smooshing with distress inks.  I love the way the gesso resists  After the background was really grungy I sewed a border round the edge. I love these kind of backgrounds because anything goes! Literally anything you like!! Then I stitched together some collage 'fodder' with canvas and lace for embellishment. I stamped the flowers and sentiment on white card, cut them out and water coloured using wild honey distress ink. Finally, my favourite part, using my Stabilo All pencil to bring it all together. I will be posting the process video on Instagram if you'd like to see it VIDEO Have a fabulous week  Toni XoXo   Rubber Dance links: Website Facebook Pinterest Blog Instagram YouTube

Art Journal Page Loose Florals

Image
Hi, I'm Vero (@ Vero.kt) and I welcome you to the inspiration from today saturdays. How's everybody? I've been playing around with  Loose Florals # 1 ,  Mixed Media Marks ,  Carved Collection #1   and     Collage Elements   to create a page in my little art journal. I hope you like it. I started by cutting watercolor paper into a 4x4 inch square format, adding pieces of book sheets, when they are dry I add gesso all over the page. With stencils and gritty effect texture paste, we add volume and texture, I use a dryer to speed up the drying process. Later we add color with pigments (also valid inks in sprays, watercolors, acrylics etc) To add texture, use several stamps with inks in similar tones to the background and in black, which also adds depth to the page. One of the parts that I enjoy the most is the composition, I have to admit that it is usually the part that takes me the most. The flowers are stamped on backgrounds created with gelli plate and acrylic paints. Once
