Inspiration - upcycled Ikea box

Image
Hi, Kate here today I am going to show you how to use gelli prints in home decor. I had a quite scratched metal box from Ikea, it was really good storage but after many years it turned into ugly box. Still useful but ugly. So I took gelli prints and I made collage and over collage I made decoupage. Two awesome techniques turned my box into beautiful one. Like in Cinderella fairytale :-) I made my gelli prints with awesome Mandalas stamp set Here is video where I show you box in detail. Here are some detail photos: Have a nice day Kate

Hello Autumn - Art Journal Page by Farida

Image
Hello lovies, Farida here. It's nice to welcome you again here on the blog. To welcome this year's autumn I created an autumn themed mini art journal double page.  I used the Textured Mushroom stamp set, that just arrived and are new to me. And I can tell you, it gives me so much inspiration, so stay tuned for my upcoming project with this stamp set á la 'stretch your stamps', where I will use the mushrooms as something else ;) You can tell, I might have a new favourite stamp set. But let's get back to this project. I used my sparkle brush pens to colour the mushrooms in a fancy colourful colour range, trying to have some lighter and darker areas so to get a kind of dimensional look.  The background was created a while ago and was ready to use in my mini art journal.  I used some water colours on the background.  For a bit more interest I added some stencilling with a white paste.  To finish an art journal page I always like to add a quote. For this one

New Birds and Flowers by Dot Leathbridge

Image
Hi everyone. we have had the most glorious Spring weather in Australia over the past couple of weeks. Lots of birds being very busy and flowers starting to show us how beautiful they are. That was my inspiration for today's mixed media card. The new stamps from Rubber Dance are now my favourite! And these gorgeous Sketchy Birds are just brilliant. Susanne, you have nailed it. I've got a few process steps for you which shows you how this card was created. The first thing was to choose my stamps. I've used stamps from Sketchy Birds and Sketchy Flowers #3 They were stamped onto white card and cut out with a thin white border around each image. Seeing as I had Spring in mind, I've used pink, white  and umber paint on my gel plate. Before taking the print I used a flower from  Sketchy Flowers #3 to stamp onto the wet paint. Then I pulled the print. Now you might be thinking that it looks a little patchy? It was perfect for what I had in mind. All I wanted was a quick bac

Journal Page with Happy Place with Video by Priss

Hi Rubber friends!!!  Priss here. Today I'm sharing some inspiration with you using one of my brand new stamps!  I've always been in love with the Happy Place and Night  &  Day Big sets .  Finally, I got them.  YAY!!!! For the background, I used the emboss resist technique with stamps from the new Mandalas set. I used superfine white embossing powder to ensure the best-stamped definition. Then I painted over my page with the Distress Oxide inks. I used blue, lilac, rose, and yellow colours to make a sunset gradient.  Now is the time to relax by colouring the stamps of the Happy Place set. I stamped them on watercolour paper. I chose fine-grained because I love the texture created when I paint with Distress Oxide as a watercolour. And finally, it's time to compose the whole scene. I used the two gorgeous houses with trees and put them as a town street. I used the clouds and the stamp with the moon and the sun of the set " Night & Day Big " (these a

LOVE LIFE Mixed Media Autumn Card

Image
Hi everyone, I'm sharing a new Mixed Media Card today with you. I've used lots of stamps, cutting dies and embossing for my card.  Acorns, mushrooms, that fits perfectly with autumn and the beautiful autumn weather outside, right? Oh okay, blue and purple might not be THE autumn colours, but I liked the gelli print with it. :) I sewed the frame on top and I hope you enjoyed the inspiration :) Have a great day, thanks for stopping by, see you soon.  Dunja   ( Blog  |  Instagram  |  Facebook ) Textured Mushrooms Mix A Sentiment #1 Mixed Media Marks   Rubber Dance links: Website Facebook Pinterest Blog Instagram YouTube
