Grungy Butterflies - Mixed Media Tags with Dunja

Image
Hello Rubber Dance Friends, I'm sharing a trio of Mixed Media Tags with you.  I created three tags from gel prints, it's easy as pie with a die-cut. I then worked on them with texture paste and a stencil.  Since I like butterflies, I used them twice here. Once as black and white and then as a gel print on acetate. I then sewed the butterflies onto the tags.  Dunja   ( Blog  |  Instagram  |  Facebook ) Grungy Butterflies Grungy Butterflies 2022 (Clear - 0013) Mixed Media Marks #2 Journal Words   Rubber Dance links: Website Facebook Pinterest Blog Instagram YouTube

ADVENTURE Mixed Media TAGs

Image
Happy Monday Rubber Dance Friends! It's the 30th, the month is almost over. June starts soon and I was taken with the summer theme and seahorses. I have designed two pendants. The base is a die-cut from Alexandra Renke, I die-cut the gel print and then embossed it with the chequered stamp in gold. I added some structure with a stencil.    In the background you will find some die-cut parts. I then glued the seahorses on top, which I also stamped on a gelli print and simply cut out. Add a little decorative stamping in the background. So you have quickly created a beautiful tags.  I hope you enjoy the time, be creative. Take a deep Breath with Dunja

Image
Hej Rubber Dance Friends, a sailing trip, just get out, take a deep breath and forget everything around you. A good idea? Then let's take a little trip today. I have a mixed media card for you. The background is a simple gel print, without much pattern. On top of it is another one, this time on acetate, it has the texture and pattern, that feel. Do you know it?  The acetate is sewn on top and a faux stitching with a stamp. Plus a few splashes of black paint Here you can see how the sail is still in the wind :) so it can start. The heart on the middle sail is foiled, I used Bonding Embossing Powder and the Fab Foils. Have a good day, Dunja xx   ( Blog  |  Instagram  |  Facebook ) AHOY Mixed Media Marks #2 Rubber Dance Links: Website Facebook Pinterest Blog Instagram YouTube

Paper Weaving Sketchy Flower by Ellie Knol

Image
This time I'd like to share this technique I recently learned from a post by Karen Dunbrook :  Paper Weaving.  (I want to give credit where credit is due ) .. Thanks so much Karen for this inspiration! Start out by cutting/using up paper strips of about 1,3 centimeters wide and weave them to form the background ..  I chose to make it slightly larger than I would need, so I could just cut the unneeded part away. No need to glue he whole thing, as long as the edges are glued.  As I used regular cardstock strips, I needed to cover the background with a transparent gesso first, as the color will soak into the cardstock.   I chose to color the image with a ready made watercolor, to have more control of the coloring (from Ecoline and Dahler&Rowney).  I put a kitchen towel underneath while coloring the images to absorb any color that would go through the holes in the background.  To provide a nice backdrop for the weaved paper background I created a ...

Grungy Stuff and Christmas !? by Ellie Knol

Image
Ellie here today..  this is a style I don't do often. The star and the circle gave me an idea: creating a christmas card with non-christmas stamps. The background was created with a roll-off of a brayer with Fresco Finish paints and infusions while gelliprinting. It took me quite some time to figure out the composition and also the placement of the colored stamped images.  In the end it took six stamp sets to finish the collage of stamped images.  I especially like the look of the faux-tissue tape, and the blue of the background peeping through. .  Have a good day!  Rubber Dance Stamps: The Rubber Dance Webshop Grungy Stuff Mixed Media Marks Mixed Media Marks #2 Pick A Number Retro Beach Happy Place
