3 Little Birds Card by Dot Leathbridge

 Hi everyone,

Gosh ... have you seen the new stamp releases
from Rubber Dance yet?
There are an amazing 10 new sets for you to have fun with!

For today though, I've made this layered card for you
using some of my favourite stamps.
(up until there were more stamps released that is.
Now I will end up with some NEW favourite stamps lol).

I've used repeat stamping with one bird
from the Sketchy Birds stamp set.

The first thing that I did was to lay down some colour.
I've used 2 blue tones in Distress Oxides as they
are a soft colour and the colours layer beautifully.

The bird was stamped 3 times.
I stamped and masked the center image
before stamping the same bird either side of it.
This gives a lovely 'coziness' to the little group.

Still using the mask, more detail has been added
to the background using a stencil.

Then some tone-on-tone stamping with one of the
Mandalas stamps finishes off the background.
I seriously can't get enough of these Mandalas!

Still using my mask, I've stamped some leaves from
Pencil Marks #3.
These were coloured with watered-down oxides in the same
colour as the background.
In the end I decided that I would add some more leaves.
You'll see this on the main picture.

I also painted one of the background colours to the birds
to add more roundness and character to each of the birds.

Here are some close-ups of each bird.

In the end we have lots of lovely layers without
too much stress involved.

I hope you have enjoyed my card for today.

The stamps used are:

My inspiration comes from our January Mood Board.

I've used the colours as my inspiration.
What will inspire you from our Mood Board this month?

Wishing you a heap of crafting fun.
