By the Sea - Art Journal Page by Farida

 Hello lovelies,

 so happy to see you over here again. 

I had a look at the new Stamps that will be released soon and was inspired by the lighthouse to create a nautical art journal page. 



So I took out my loved little self made mini art journal and saw this page. I started some time ago with this brownish medium and some glitter paste and a stencil, but never finished it.

With this pattern it rememberes me of water drops and waves...


.... so I started with muting down this brownish background with some white acrylic paint. To give my creation a frame I also dry brushed the edges. 



Next I added some blue colour using distress oxides colours mixed with water. I used a flat brush in wavy motions on the top half of the page. 



I stamped a sea gull, a lighthouse as well as a sailing boat and coloured them with my alcohol makers. Afterwards I fuzzy cutted the stamped images and glued them to the double page.


To  finish the page I stamped the sentiment on to a piece of white cardstock and used a fine tip black pen to frame it with some loose fine lines. 


I totally fall in love with this creation.

Easel Card With Textured Flowers

Hello.  Welcome.  Gail from the design team here today with a project using the new Textured Flowers stamps.  I loved these the moment I saw them.  Big beautiful blooms.  And many small er stamps for adding leaves and texture.   I decided to make a Twisted Easel Card.  There are many tutorials available but I used this one by Lois.  So here's my card using Textured Flowers and of course, a giraffe .......... I was inspired by the Rubber Dance challenge colours which for June are: I stamped the large simple daisy, masked and stamped two more.  I added the giraffe from African Animals .  I think I'll call her Daisy. I thought it looked a bit empty so I stamped more daisies...... and coloured with distress and d y e inks.  I stamped and embossed three of the doodled flowers and the giraffe, fussy cut and added them to my panel.  I used brads and a Cheery Lynn die cut for the flower centers.  I also doodled a little faux stitching

Blog Hoppin' Superpowers

Rubber Dance has gained a following of stampers that love our Sarcasm Superpowers sentiment stamps. These aren't exactly our best seller stamps (not very surprisingly), but if you love them, you'll LOVE them! And this particular group of followers certainly do - not very surprisingly at all with a group name like theirs .... namely the  Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers! (I know, right? Too darn cute!) These fine ladies have bullied me and some of my designers into a blog hop featuring our Sarcasm Superpower stamps. It didn't take much persuation, nor any bribes to speak of. Just mention  "challenge", and we'll be all over you like underfed fruitflies on a brown banana.
