Hi, folks! Bibi here with a fun hands-on project! I was flipping through some old stamp magazines the other day when I saw a card in the shape of a hand. It was made from a template, but hey - who needs a template when you already have one at hand? I traced my hand on a piece of cardstock, cut it out and used that template to make three more hands. If you trace your own hand four times, chances are the cardstock hands won't look exactly the same - but maybe that's what you want. All the hands were cut out of white cardstock. I smooshed some Distress ink using foam applicators to color the hands, then lightly misted them with water for the speckle effect I like so much. I also used the Face-lifting technique to highlight some areas. The hands were bound together using eyelets and a string of cotton lace that I dyed with Distress inks. Always Take The Scenic Route

Good morning and happy Friday. It's Sue here with a step by step project that really was a labour of love. This is a wooden photo frame/box which is great to play with 'cos it's about 2 inches deep. I started by giving it a coat of gesso, and then sponged on the greens (for grass) and blues (for sky) PaperArtsy Fresco paints with an old kitchen sponge. As you can tell I only got to primary level at colouring-in school. For my box, I've only used one stamp set Whimsical Summer which the lovely Donna designed for Rubber Dance. Here I've stamped the tree and cloud stamps. I've built up the colours in the trees with a cotton wool bud. Sometimes you just have to splash out on the specialist equipment! I love these happy clouds, had white Fresco paint sponged on them too, and then I've re-drawn in the lines with a blue pencil. Ohh Summer, please come back! Now the frame's complete it's time to concentrate on the inside....

A Day to Celebrate + GIVEAWAY!

Hello, dear stamping friends all over the world!  Bibi here today with  THREE things to celebrate! Today is the Norwegian National Day , which is celebrated with childrens' parades and marching bands all over  the country. The proper way to greet a Norwegian on May 17th is to say, "Gratulerer med dagen!" (Literally:  Congratulations with the day ). This photo is from a parade in Oslo: May 17th is also my mum's birthday and today she's turning 75! After watching the parades, we're celebrating mum's big day with family and friends at her place. I have always made birthday cards for mum using the colours of our flag (red, white and blue), but this year I did something different and I know she likes these colours, too. Background paper made with spray inks.
