Flutterby by Samantha Read

Hello, Samantha here today and I'm delighted to share with you a very pretty project to celebrate the new, beautiful Inky Friends stamps set and I hope you enjoy my little tutorial.
(I love using lolly sticks but if you can't find any of these larger size you may find them on Amazon as tongue depressors).

To make you lolly stick surface, use something with a corner to make sure they are lined up straight and then fix together by gluing some card on the reverse ensuring that all lolly sticks are adhered.

To add texture I applied some texture paste through a stencil.

I then prepared the surface using some white gesso.

Now the fun colourful part can begin, lay down your base colours, I tend to stick to just three colours to make things easier to coordinate.

I used a stencil and white gesso to add another layer to the background.

I then stamped Weed Love and some small flowers and larger flowers and coloured using watercolours.

To finish I used a gold leaf pen to add some sparkle to the raised areas of texture paste, some inky splats and stamped and coloured the beautiful butterfly and some more flowers to add another layer of depth and interest, and adhered them in place.

I do hope you like my project and that I have inspired you.
Wishing you a lovely day, Samantha :)

Here are the stamps I used:
