Happy Birthday Mixed Media Card

Image
Hello Rubber Dance Friends, it's Dunja today and i'm happy to be back on the blog to share my latest card with you.  The card is fresh, colourful and made with my favourite materials. Have you already discovered the clear stamps from Rubber Dance? They are great, right? I used a gel print here, on top of it I applied the Tacky when Dry paste on a stencil and used the FabFoils in rose gold. It sticks to the dry paste and the effect is fantastic. I simply stamped the leaves with a black ink pad and cut them out. On top of that I placed the die cut flower and can you see the little two flowers? They are stamped on a gel print, cut out and glued on.  I embossed the sentiment in white on black cardstock. I hope you like the card? Have a great day. Don't forget, you can still take part in our challenge in the Facebook group. See you soon, happy Rubber Dance stamping. Little Boat by Samantha Read

Image
Hello, Samantha here today and I'm sharing with a cute card using one of the new stamp sets called AHOY, you can probably guess that it's ocean themed!, and it's where this cute little sail boat is from. I wanted to make a quick card and couldn't get the idea of the boat and rainbow together out of my head so it had to be done. I created the waves by stamping the little rainbows and cutting around three of them where I would be slotting the sail boat and end of the big rainbow behind. The sail boat, rainbow and flower were all stamped on white card, coloured with watercolour paints and adhered in place. The seagulls were stamped directly on to the card. I finished by matting and layering and adding some splats. (The text is from an alphabet set in my stash). Here are the stamp sets I used: AHOY Pencil Marks #3 and Loose Florals #1 I do hope you like my card, thanks so much for looking, have a lovely day, Sam :) For more inspiration please join us in the Rubber Dance Sta...

Mystic Turtle by Samantha Read

Image
Hello, Samantha here today and I'm sharing a wooden art tag. I really enjoy working on wood because you it's so strong and tolerates all mediums. I also love turtles and the moon, I find them so mesmerizing, it's the moon light reflecting off the surface of the sea that the guides turtles to the sea when they hatch at night time. To decorate my tag I created the background using watercolour paints, some sequin stars, texture paste through a star stencil and lots of glitter for a sparkly sky. I made the moon embellishment by moulding wet kitchen towel on a big moon rubber stamp from my stash and then painting with an acrylic iridescent paint.  I then stamped the fabulous turtle from the Textured Sea Creatures set and a flower from Loose Florals 1 on to white card and coloured using Prismacolour pencils. To finish I added some ribbon. Here are the stamp sets I used; Textured Sea Creatures Loose Florals #1  I do hope you like my tag, for more inspiration why not join the Rubbe...

Dreaming of Spring by Samantha Read

Image
Hello, Samantha here today :) Once the festive time is over and the new year has begun I find myself very much looking forward to Spring with warmth and flowers. I have already seen my first Snowdrops on 31 December so Spring really is just around the corner! Today I'm sharing a page I made for my art journal, (there are no words, the journaling is later for me). It measure 8 inches by 8 inches and is full of texture and brightness and hopefully it will brighten your day as it did mine while I created it. I used four wonderful Rubber Dance Stamp sets for my journal page; Textured Birds for the main character. Weed Love for background detail. Loose Florals #1 for the smaller flowers and Sketchy Flowers #3 for the big flower blooms. Here's my tutorial: If like me you sometimes find a blank page a little daunting, I nearly always start a project by adding background colour, for this page I used acrylic paints then applied white gesso through a stencil as those colours were very br...

Beneath the Moon by Samantha Read

Hello, Samantha with you today and I'm sharing a page I created for my art journal.  Autumn is my favourite time of year and I wanted to to make an autumnal page but not necessarily using autumn colours, I wanted bright colours to be a celebration. September sees and hears the return of robins to my garden, they greet me each morning singing their beautiful song, the moon always seems to look better at this time of year and I love to go mushroom hunting and there are still some lovely flowers to be found.  I remove my pages from my journal before decorating and will then rebound later when they are all complete, so the writing will be added later, so at the moment I have a lot of art journal pages with no journaling, lol. I began by adding lovely bright colours for my background. I always panic when I do this as they are very bright and I wonder how it comes together! Then using a stencil and white gesso everything becomes a little calmer. Don't worry if your page bends when w...
