Cardmaking with Dot

Hi everyone,
It's Dot here today to share a card with you that I really enjoyed making. The Mood Board for this month has been my inspiration.  I've used one of the colours and the birds as inspiration.

Are you ready to have a go at making this?  Here we go ...

Step 1:  You need a stamping platform for this step.  Ink and stamp out the largest leaf with some brown and green oxides until you are happy with the colours.  Leave the middle un-inked so that you can pop an image in there.

Step 2:  Next, a couple of masks are needed. The first mask that you need is where you cut the leaf in one piece, about 2 mm larger than the stamped image itself. As in the pic above. This gives you a negative mask. Then cut out a separate, normal mask.  Simply stamp the image and fussy cut the image about 2 mm in from the outer edge.

Step 3:  Place the negative mask over the stamped leaf.  You'll be able to see the whole leaf inside the mask. Stamp Da Vinci Woman 1 inside the mask.

Step 4:  While the mask is still in place, stamp the eagle from the stamp set A Little Birdie ...
Then it is okay to remove the mask.

Step 5:  Place the leaf mask over the leaf and then begin stamping some smaller leaves.  These can all be found on Twiggy Leaves.  There has also been a subtle little bird added to the top right corner.  This is also from the A Little Birdie ... set.

Step 6:  It's a little difficult to see in this pic, but I think you'll like the finish when you add some ink around the edges. Nothing to heavy though, your eye needs to go to the main leaf.  Then all you need to do is mat and layer this onto cardstock that matches the colours that you use.

Here are a couple of close up pics for you showing the detail.

The stamps used on this card are:

Big Maple

Da Vinci Woman 1

A Little Birdie ...

Twiggy Leaves
