Altered Book Page by Angie Coomber

 Hello arty friends, how are you all doing? 

It has been very hot in my part of the UK and I am writing this in front of a lovely cool fan - bliss!

For this layout I worked in one of my altered books. I use this one for monochrome pages, so I only use black, white and a pop of colour. I really enjoy challenging myself to use this limited amount of supplies - give it a try!
First I used some gel medium to glue a crumpled piece of tissue paper to my pages - this adds a lovely texture.
I also added some pieces of ephmera. When this was dry I added a layer of clear gesso.
I added some black mark making, black & white washi tape, and as I had decided that my additonal colour was going to be red/orange I also used washi tape in those colours.
I used Colour Burst powders to create an orange background for stamping the butterflies on.
Once I had stamped the butterflies and cut them out (I forgot to take a photo!) I positioned these and the picture on my pages, then glued them down.
I added some additional stamping, a quote that I found on Pinterest, some white doodling and some gold and pink splatter. If you haven't had a go at altering a book before, give it a go. But be warned - it's addictive!Hugs from Angie x

Today is the Norwegian National Day , which is celebrated with childrens' parades and marching bands all over  the country. The proper way to greet a Norwegian on May 17th is to say, "Gratulerer med dagen!" (Literally:  Congratulations with the day ). This photo is from a parade in Oslo: May 17th is also my mum's birthday and today she's turning 75! After watching the parades, we're celebrating mum's big day with family and friends at her place. Follow your heart, journal page by Shilpa

Hello Everyone, Shilpa from the Creative Team here, It is a great pleasure to start a new journey here at the Rubber Dance blog today. I've created this journal page using I Heart Art stamp set and Think Again stamp set. In the background I created heart texture with DecoArt sand texture paste and heart stencils. To bring the colors on page I used Metallic acrylics. I stamped the heart on Kraft paper. The vintage bicycle is a metal charm which is colored with acrylics.  I adore this sentiment - "when you follow your heart, journey becomes destination" This stamp set from Rubber Dance also has other great sentiments in it. Hi, folks! Bibi here with a fun hands-on project! I was flipping through some old stamp magazines the other day when I saw a card in the shape of a hand. It was made from a template, but hey - who needs a template when you already have one at hand? I traced my hand on a piece of cardstock, cut it out and used that template to make three more hands. If you trace your own hand four times, chances are the cardstock hands won't look exactly the same - but maybe that's what you want. All the hands were cut out of white cardstock. I smooshed some Distress ink using foam applicators to color the hands, then lightly misted them with water for the speckle effect I like so much. I also used the Face-lifting technique to highlight some areas. The hands were bound together using eyelets and a string of cotton lace that I dyed with Distress inks.
