"in our HEARTS"

 Hello Rubber Dance friends!! Josi Tomàs greets you once again or to show you a new tutorial on this more special occasion than ever.

Today I bring the step by step of a new Art Journal page that talks about a part of my family and is dedicated to the memory of my father-in-law, "the grandfather" of the family and who liked very much to receive my postcards on special occasions....


First I have put a bit of modeling paste with the spatula and then I have stamped a texture stamp . Once dry, I have made white embossing by superimposing 10 hearts (one for each of us) in which there are other smaller hearts inside each one


I have coloured the composition using pigments and gelattos in three shades

 

 This is the result of the first two steps...

I have made several stamps using the Journal Words stamp applied with light grey permanent ink. Then I put texture paste with a stencil.


The composition that decorates the page is really simple and is divided into these steps:

1.  Embossing in gold on vellum with the branch of Pencil Marks #3 and on the imprint of Mixed Media Marks

2.  Stamps on white paper using Vintage Postcard and the tickets from Mixed Media Marks and Mixed Media Marks #3. 

I have "stained" them with the pigments used to create the background, I have wrinkled them and I have put crackle paste on them to give it an age effect.

3. I have stamped on pink cardboard a circle with text inside, a small clock on vellum to which I have put white paper behind to highlight and the word "heart" on white cardboard as well.

In the images you can see how I assembled all the decoration on a piece of medical gauze...



 

 The clock stopped leaving a mark on our hearts forever.

We will remember forever places and moments in which you will not be able to be, words that we couldn't tell you in time.

An open wound that can only be closed by staying together and looking "up" 

Dedicated to you "grandfather". Thank you for looking with so much admiration and affection at each postcard I made thinking of you.

You will always be in our hearts.

Happiness is a state of mind - Art Journal Page

Hello Everyone, Shilpa from the Design Team here. I am sharing with you a journal spread, for which I've used Rubber Dance Nostalgic Couples , Something Wonderful and few other stamp sets. Here's my procedure... To make the texture on the journal page, first I cut out this piece using a die. I adhered that die cut pieces on pages and applied embossing paste through stencil.  Let it dry completely.   To bring colours to the page I spritzed randomly with  Peacock Feather, Wilted Violet, Faded Jeans and Vintage Photo distress inks. To create one more layer I stamped circles and text on the page. In addition I applied colours from distress crayons to create depth. I stamped the Nostalgic Couple on another paper with black archival ink and coloured it with distress markers.   I adhered a few embellishments and ephemera and layered the lovely couple image onto it. Back from The Netherlands

Hello everyone! It's Bibi here today, typing to you from my new keyboard .... Isn't that speck-tacular?  But what does my "new" keyboard have to do with my trip to The Netherlands? Keep reading and you'll soon find out ... As our regular blog readers will know, I spent a week in The Netherlands earlier this month. The main reason I went there was so I could go to the ARTSpecially stamp show in Nijkerk to meet my Dutch retailer - Marian, who owns Hobbycompleet de Duif . But before that, my sweetheart and I spent some days in Amsterdam, one of my fave places in the world! The huge "I amsterdam" letters on the plaza behind Rijksmuseum (National Gallery). Any toursist with respect for herself will take 100's of photos of those letters.... I Wish I Could Art Journal - by Bibi

Hey everyone! I'm not sure whether what I've made for today can be called an art journal page or altered canvas, because it's really neither .. It's not a page in a journal and the "canvas" is a piece of cardboard, so... maybe it's a hybrid of sorts. No matter what it's called, here it is! And this is what it looks like with the guitar flap open: The reason why I made this .. "whatever it's called" .... is that I've had this bundle of guitar string-looking wire lying on the floor in my studio for some time. Yes, on the floor! (If you thought I'm a very neat and tidy person, I'm sorry to burst the illusion). I've no idea where that wire bundle came from, and I'm not sure why I hadn't bothered to pick it up... but I've looked down on it from time to time, thinking I could probably use it for something, some fine day... .... and then, a few weeks ago a friend of mine was visiting, he pic
