Bird Collage Card by Gail

Hello Rubber Dance friends.  Gail here today.  I'm looking forward to spring and decided to make a card with birds.   Rubber Dance have quite a lot of bird themed stamps so I decided to try and collage a few together.  The stamping and masking was quite a fun and relaxing exercise.  Here's my finished card.

I got a bit lost in the process so I didn't take lots of pictures, but I'll try and explain my order of stamping.  I started by stamping one of the Sketchy Birds with black archival ink .  I gave him a watercolour wash with Picked Raspberry distress oxide and masked it.  Then, using Sky Blue archival ink I stamped and masked Large Postoid, Vintage Aviary, Feathered Friends and the pebbles from Mixed Media Marks #3, in that order.  Then I unmasked everything except the pebbles and the pink bird and stamped the silhouette bird from Nesting.

I stamped Love and the hearts with red archival ink and then the sentiment with Night Sky archival, which I bought at Christmas and it is fast becoming my new black!

To finish I gave the whole panel a pink watercolour wash, edged with red ink and mounted on a red slimline card base.

Thanks for visiting.  I hope you like my card.  If you are making anything using Rubber Dance stamps add them to the album in the Rubber Dance Stamping Lounge for a chance to win a voucher to the shop.  Have fun!!  See you there!!!
