Leaves and Butterflies Card by Gail

Image
Hello Rubber Dance friends.  Gosh, October!! I actually like the autumn season with it's gorgeous colours and all the bright harvest vegetables, but the shorter nights and cooler days do make me want to cosy down with warm blankets and hot chocolate!!!   It also zaps the creativity a bit so this months moodboard gives some great ideas for themes and colours.  I also like to look at challenge themes to see if they will spark ideas.  This month the Lift Challenge has an interesting technique of stamping a repeating pattern and then colouring by stamping with another stamp.  Well, I have plenty of stamps!  So after a little thought this happened. So cute!!!   I used the little butterfly from Rubber Dance Things With Wings with the small leaf cluster from Rubber Dance Carved Collection #4 and the sentiment from Rubber Dance Think Again set. I stamped the small butterfly in an ascetically pleasing pattern I stamped the leaf cluster on each butt...

Bird Collage Card by Gail

Image
Hello Rubber Dance friends.  Gail here today.  I'm looking forward to spring and decided to make a card with birds.   Rubber Dance have quite a lot of bird themed stamps so I decided to try and collage a few together.  The stamping and masking was quite a fun and relaxing exercise.  Here's my finished card. I got a bit lost in the process so I didn't take lots of pictures, but I'll try and explain my order of stamping.  I started by stamping one of the Sketchy Birds with black archival ink .  I gave him a watercolour wash with Picked Raspberry distress oxide and masked it.  Then, using Sky Blue archival ink I stamped and masked Large Postoid , Vintage Aviary , Feathered Friends and the pebbles from Mixed Media Marks #3 , in that order.  Then I unmasked everything except the pebbles and the pink bird and stamped the silhouette bird from Nesting . I stamped Love and the hearts with red archival ink and then the sentiment with Night Sk...

Egg Card with This Is Me by Gail

Image
Hello Rubber Dance friends.  Gail here today.  I'm feeling the Easter vibes so I made an egg shaped card with paint and vellum and Rubber Dance stamps, of course!!   I've used Rubber Dance This is Me , Vintage Script and Choose To Be Happy sentiment stamps. I started by brayering red, yellow and ochre acrylic paint onto card.  Then I added some red and black smears using an old credit card.  When the paint was dry I cut an egg shape using a die.  All my stamping is black archival on yellow vellum.  I stamped the Vintage Script on some pieces of yellow vellum I cut with a grass die, to give a nice jagged edge.  I stamped the sentiment on another piece of the yellow vellum and ripped the edges.  I used pritstick to glue the vellum to the 'egg'.  I stamped the girl from This is Me on pink pearlescent card and again on more of the yellow vellum.  I fussy cut both, then also fussy cut the face from the hair on the yellow vellum vers...

A Tag Using Inky Flowers by Dot Leathbridge

Image
Hello everyone, Today I'm sharing a tag that I've made using  Inky Flowers and words from Think Again. During Covid lockdowns I enjoyed reading a lot more. Especially at night as it helped to clear my mind. I am battling to read more than 5 - 6 pages before I drift off to sleep. This tag will come in handy as a bookmark. It will save me having to use a piece of scrap paper. Here are some more close-up pics of the tag for you to check out. Using the stitching from Grungy borders is a great way to add a frame. I like to dangle a heart here and there. I forgot to punch a hole in my tag, but that's okay because I decided to place some flowers in that area. My inspiration for this tag comes from our January Mood Board. You can find us over on facebook here where we have a competition every month and give-away awesome prizes. I hope you enjoyed my tag and are able to join us  over on facebook. The stamps used on my tag are: Inky Flowers Think Again Grungy Borders Wishing you ...

Art journal page with Mama Owl by Jessica

Image
Hello everyone! It´s Jessica here. How is everyone doing? Today I will share an art journal page in my leftover book.  The page was already primed with gesso and had a layer with modeling paste through a stencil(Tim Holtz). I decided to color my page with Lindy´s Stamp gang magicals powder and spray. Then I stamped my Mama Owl on parchment paper. It´s something I do when I have a very textured page otherwise the stamped image will get uneven.   I used gel medium to glue it to my page and then I stamped the branch and some leaves around my page from the Mama Owl set . The owl disapeard in all the blues and greens and I decided to color some parts of the owl with Arteza real brush pens (yellow, green and turquoise) and a white posca pen. I also used a micron pen to fill in some of the black lines. I did some more stamping, flowers from the same set and a title from the Think Again set. Here are some closeup pictures. ...
