Altered Book Page by Angie Coomber

 Hello arty friends, how are you all doing? 

It has been very hot in my part of the UK and I am writing this in front of a lovely cool fan - bliss!

For this layout I worked in one of my altered books. I use this one for monochrome pages, so I only use black, white and a pop of colour. I really enjoy challenging myself to use this limited amount of supplies - give it a try!
First I used some gel medium to glue a crumpled piece of tissue paper to my pages - this adds a lovely texture.
I also added some pieces of ephmera. When this was dry I added a layer of clear gesso.
I added some black mark making, black & white washi tape, and as I had decided that my additonal colour was going to be red/orange I also used washi tape in those colours.
I used Colour Burst powders to create an orange background for stamping the butterflies on.
Once I had stamped the butterflies and cut them out (I forgot to take a photo!) I positioned these and the picture on my pages, then glued them down.
I added some additional stamping, a quote that I found on Pinterest, some white doodling and some gold and pink splatter. If you haven't had a go at altering a book before, give it a go. But be warned - it's addictive!Hugs from Angie x

Terrific Teabags

Hi everyone, Donna with you today sharing a card featuring stamping on teabags...great fun :) I steeped the teabags in hot water for a few minutes, squeezed them out, cut them open and then left them to dry overnight. Once they were dry I removed all the tealeaves to just leave the empty bag. You can re use any teabags but I wouldn't use any that you have had in a cup with milk or sugar. I wanted to keep a nature theme to the whole card so I used some stamps from the sets  Weed Love ,  A Little Birdie ,  Antique Botanicals  and stamped them directly onto the teabags using black  Archival ink  and then added some doodling with a white  Posca pen . You'd be amazed by how easy it is to stamp on the teabags and what a clear impression you get too. Follow That Sheep

Hello.  Gail from the design team here today.  I have a friend.  He's a farmer.  It's his birthday next month, and I usually get him a little present.  Usually something silly, but useful, often related to cows or sheep, cos that's what he has.  Well, Rubber Dance doesn't have any cow stamps.  But they do have a sheep.  So here we go.  Practical art staring the Sheep ........ I used the current challenge colours, dark brown, pale blue and white with a couple of others added in for good measure LOL.   I started with a large empty tin.  The kind you get fruit salad or such in.  I used Walnut Stain distress on a piece of copy paper, cut it to size and covered the outside of my tin.   I cut Poppystamps Boddington Hillside three times from green card.  I removed the house from two of the cuts and stuck them around the tin.  They fitted almost perfectly.  I have randomly left bits ...

Altered Chipboard Butterfly + Giveaway

Bibi here today with a fun project, using the Totem Monarch Poppet chipboard from EyeConnect Crafts . I had such a blast with this and I hope what I've made will inspire you to make something similar. The difference between the chipboards from EyeConnect Crafts and others ones I've seen out there, is that they are made to connect (hence the name). There are two categories, one called Lace-Ups which you bind together using ribbons, string, lace, etcetera and another category of chipboards with smaller holes so you can connect the pieces using tiny eyelets or brads. This is what it looks like. The pieces are laser cut, and you easily remove them from the base - save that part and use it as a stencil for another project. A Day to Celebrate + GIVEAWAY!

Hello, dear stamping friends all over the world!  Bibi here today with  THREE things to celebrate! Today is the Norwegian National Day , which is celebrated with childrens' parades and marching bands all over  the country. The proper way to greet a Norwegian on May 17th is to say, "Gratulerer med dagen!" (Literally:  Congratulations with the day ). This photo is from a parade in Oslo: May 17th is also my mum's birthday and today she's turning 75! After watching the parades, we're celebrating mum's big day with family and friends at her place. I have always made birthday cards for mum using the colours of our flag (red, white and blue), but this year I did something different and I know she likes these colours, too.
