Elephant Journey by Dot

Hi everyone,
It is Dot, and it's great to see you here.
The card that I have for you today
is all about enjoying the extra time
that we have to play in.

The beginnings of this came about after literally slapping
a little watered-down paint onto some card,
adding a little stenciling and then some stamping.
It would be fair to say that I had created a bit of a mess.

However, off to the edge of this mess was a less busy area
so this is where I've stamped the Elephant and cut him out.
He has a little of the paint, a little of the stenciling
and a little of the stamping showing on his body.
Maybe I will turn other parts of the left-over card
into flowers on another day.

While looking at this month's Mood Board, the colours really jumped out at me.
They are such happy colours.
So this was my inspiration for the background.
There were three paint colours brushed onto the card.
Random stamping was added.
It was then knocked back with white paint.
Some stenciling using the paints from the first layer added
a lovely tone-on-tone effect.
Then Old book Page and daisies from Antique Botanicals were stamped along the edges.

There was no pink to help the elephant fit in!
A little more stenciling with pink paint and edging with Oxides fixed this.

The large words are from Journal Words.
I really liked how the large writing from this set was a nice match with the
small writing from Old Book Page.

To finish ...
More stamping was added with Round In Circles to fill in some of the empty area
and somewhere to add more pink.
More stamping around the edges with Grungy Borders to create a border.
More stenciling with black paint.
And some white gel pen on the daisies.

I enjoyed just playing with stamps and having the time
to build up layers with paint, stencils and stamps.

The stamps used on this are:

A reminder that there is still time to enter our monthly challenge.
It is always a Mood Board with loads of ideas for you to create with.

In the meantime,
I hope you enjoy some crafting time.
