 Hi everyone. One of the good things to come out of the pandemic is the reinforcement of how so very special our friends are. So this card is for all our friends, near and far. Would you like to see how it was made? I have a step x step for you. And I made a little discovery that  uses masking (my favourite technique) but on a gel plate this time. The baby penguin, from Playful Penguins ,  is the first thing to be stamped. Mask off the baby penguin, stamp the mom, masking off again. Then stamp the moon from Celestial and the floating ice sheets from Playful Penguins . It's surprising how many stamps are in this set. I stamped the waves once, then masked the top of it so that I could add the seal. I wanted it to look like he is popping up out of the water to say hello. After all, fall/autumn is all around us (here in the north, anyway), and we do love its glorious colours! We hope you do, too, when you create an entry (or three) for our October Challenge: Did you know that "fall" is an Old English word? It replaced the word 'harvest' in the early 1600s as more people started moving into cities. City dwellers began to use the phrase 'fall of the leaf'' and, over time, the phrase was shortened to fall. Surprisingly, etymologists don’t know where the word "autumn" comes from. It was used as far back at the 1300s (by Chaucer), and Shakespeare often used the word, too. Guest Designer Katy Leitch - Mini Assemblage

Hello everyone! So happy to be back with my dear friends at Rubber Dance today for a guest appearance! I was actually a bit cheeky and kind of invited myself, because I really wanted to get my hands on the gorgeous ' Fly with Me ' stamp set! I've created a small assemblage piece today using lots of pieces of chipboard layered together. Here's how I created it. Rubber Dance stamps used: Fly with Me Collage Elements 1 Round in Circles 1) Glue several layers of chipboard shapes together so they form a pleasing shape. Have a focal area for your stamp and make some of the elements overhang the main background shape. I added some stencilling with modelling paste to the arched piece. 2) Paint the whole thing with black gesso and allow to dry. 3) Spray liberally with lots of shimmer sprays, spraying close to and getting lots of mica in there, I used mostly ColourArte Radiant Rains for this. Simplicity Sunday - Card with Distress Oxides by Melina

Hi! It´s Melina here today on Simplicity Sunday with a card to share with you. A while ago I had a play with my Distress oxide inks and photo paper. For todays project I used one of those backgrounds. I stamped the Dreamcatcher using StazOn ink, and also stamped the  sentiment from the Affirmations stamp set. I then stamped a few of the small stamps and the word Dream from the  Dreamcatcher stamp set using Distress Oxides again. I drew a string for the dreamcatcher to hang from and a frame all around the edges and my card was done. If anyone is interested to see how I made the background, you´ll  find the video HERE .
