Bird and Blossoms by Samantha Read

Hello, Samantha here today and I'd love to share with you a page I made for my art journal. 
I've been creating pages for my journal since December last year and have decided not to journal on my pages until all the pages are made. I'm loving the white space on this page.

The background was created by stamping directly on my page with distress inks, the bird was stamped on white card and coloured using watercolour paints. I've used just three colours as this helps to keep a coordinated look and I used a Sizzix die for my bird to sit on after creating my pretty background. I finished by adding some arty 'splats'.

CASology Challenge #213: Stitch - Card by Bibi

The cue word at the CASology challenge this week is STITCH, so without further ado - here's my card: Stamps used (all from Rubber Dance): Giraffe , Mannequin from Sew Sweet ,  X stitches from Stitch & Frame . Stamped with Archival Ink (coffee), coloured in with Distress inks (tea dye and mermaid lagoon). After all, fall/autumn is all around us (here in the north, anyway), and we do love its glorious colours! We hope you do, too, when you create an entry (or three) for our October Challenge: Did you know that "fall" is an Old English word? It replaced the word 'harvest' in the early 1600s as more people started moving into cities. City dwellers began to use the phrase 'fall of the leaf'' and, over time, the phrase was shortened to fall. Surprisingly, etymologists don’t know where the word "autumn" comes from. It was used as far back at the 1300s (by Chaucer), and Shakespeare often used the word, too. As English spread to the New World, the common season names split as well and today, American English uses the word fall while British English
