Butterfly Trio by Samantha Read

Hello, Samantha here today and I'm so happy to be sharing with a page I created for my art journal. It doesn't have the journaling on yet which is why I have not used any text as I think I may get confused when writing over the top. Colours are like therapy to me and this was wonderful fun to create, the hard part was knowing when to stop adding details. My page is 8inches by 8inches, I used distress inks for the background and watercolours for the beautiful butterflies. White embossing and lustre spray give some lovely contrasts and details The stamps I used are: Inky Friends Bold and Beautiful Pencil Marks #2 and Pencil Marks #1  For lots more beautiful inspiration please join us on Facebook here in the Rubber Dance Stamping Lounge. Thanks so much for looking, wishing you a lovely day, Sam :) x

ATB Butterflies and Bee by Samantha Read

Hello, Samantha here today and I'm sharing with you an Artist Trading Block using lots of wonderful Rubber Dance stamps. I used six sets in total but I think it shows brilliantly how all the different sets can be so versatile and work fantastically together.  As I was making this Spring had started to arrive and in my head that took me to days of better weather and time spent outdoors enjoying all that nature has to offer, except pollen! Atchoo! I had also had some of these ATB's in my art room for so long I thought it was time to use them, they may be a new addiction. Thankfully the ATB's were flat packed so just a little gluing and they're ready to go. The one I used for this project was just under 3inches square. I used black gesso around the edges, this really makes the finished squares really pop when glued on. I got organised and stamped all the images and die cut extra components. Using Distress Inks I used the spritz and smoosh technique to create the colour of ...

Bird and Blossoms by Samantha Read

Hello, Samantha here today and I'd love to share with you a page I made for my art journal.  I've been creating pages for my journal since December last year and have decided not to journal on my pages until all the pages are made. I'm loving the white space on this page. The background was created by stamping directly on my page with distress inks, the bird was stamped on white card and coloured using watercolour paints. I've used just three colours as this helps to keep a coordinated look and I used a Sizzix die for my bird to sit on after creating my pretty background. I finished by adding some arty 'splats'. I do hope you like it, thanks for looking and I wish you a lovely day,  Sam x The stamps I used are as follows; Bold and Beautiful Textured Birds and Weed Love

House Number 123 by Samantha Read

Hello, Samantha with you today and I'd like to share a journal page tutorial with you.  It's a very short tutorial because I was having so much fun and got lost in the process I forgot to take photos after a little while!  The Textured Houses stamp set was the first Rubber Dance stamp set I purchased, but I somehow don't use it as often as I'd like and it's so versatile and suitable for any time of year or occasion. I created my neutral coloured background by spritzing some distress ink with water on my craft mat and mopping up the ink with my page. Using a coffee stirrer and some sand texture paste I made a little place for my houses to be on the page. I painted the coffee stirrer to match the background colour and then stamped and embossed the house three times. Now the really fun part started and I forgot to take photos lol. Using just three bright, contrasting colours I stamped some flower and added some flowers with the...
