Flower Friends by Samantha Read



Hello, Samantha here today and I'd like to share with you how I made this pretty page for my art journal.

My page measures 8 in x 8 in so there is room for plenty of flowers, this can make you look at your stencils in new ways, I used this wonderful That's Crafty! stencil just by drawing with a pencil the inside of the flowers.

I then used Prima watercolours so colour my flowers.

And also to colour my background.

Then I white card I stamped the girl from the Little Witch set, I didn't think she needed to be a witch everyday! A bird from Textured Bird set and a butterfly from Inky friends set and I coloured them also with watercolours.

After gluing the girl and her friends in their flowery meeting place I added extra details such as glitter to the patch of the girls skirt and hearts and pretty dots to the bird using Posca Pens.

New Website AND Birthday SALE!

Hi everyone! It's Bibi here, the owner of Rubber Dance, and guess what.... Today is my birthday!! Hey??! Not only is it my birthday - I have made a brand new website for Rubber Dance! But, wait - there is more: NEW stamps, too? You bet! I made these tags with some of the new stamps ... Yes, I made birthday tags for myself ... The backgrounds on the ones to the left and right are my first attempt with the really cool nail polish in water marbling technique. (If you have no idea what I'm talking about, here's a really good tutorial with Carla Sonheim). The tag in the middle was coloured with Distress inks and misted with water, while the stamped label on top is with the nail polish technique. Mixed Media Tags by Susanne

Hi there! Susanne writing today and I'm sharing some mixed media tags today. My focal points are the beautiful Butterfly Girls . I started with a water colour background. I added a thin layer of gesso in the middle are and some background stamping for more interest. Before I added the Butterfly Girls (that are stamped on gelli printed deli paper), I added some patterned paper which was die cut with the Tim Holtz Mixed Media dies. To finish it up I added some black dripping paint and white splatters. The sentiment is printed with the computer. I framed every tag with my sewing machine.  I created similar tags a while ago, where I used the same technique. You'll find it here . Mistakes are proof that you are trying - a tag by Anita

Hello and welcome, Anita from the Design Team here today to show you step by step a tag I've made: On this tag I've used the colours from this month Colour Challenge: I began to glue down with Distress Collage Matte Medium Tim Holtz tissue wrap on my tag. I also used this medium on top of the tissue wrap t o achieve a smooth surface. This is in order for Distress crayons to blend nicely together.
