A Crabby Card with Crazy Monsters by Dot
Hello everyone,
it's great to see you here.
it's great to see you here.
Today I've a step x step tutorial for you using the crab
from the Crazy Monsters stamp set.
He keeps catching my eye so it was time to play.

Are you relaxed and ready to go?
We begin with Distress Ink being blended over some white card.
A couple of greens and turquoise are my colours of choice as
the aim is for an underwater feel to the scene.

A little water is spritzed onto the stencil
and then the watery side is placed onto the inked background.
It's always a great idea to gently dab around the stencil with paper toweling
to take up any excess water.
The reason is that you end up with a cleaner 'image'.

Using the same stencil, add some Distress Ink through
the stencil in a slightly darker colour of ink.
This gives a lovely tone-on-tone effect and creates the illusion of depth.

Now to create a little atmosphere.
The bubbles from Playful Penguins were stamped.
Extra circles were created by simply drawing around the inside of a
bubble stencil with a black fine liner.
It will be more interesting if you choose different sized circles.
Then colour the circles.

Here a little more stenciling has been added to create
a seaweed effect.
Then a little random stamping using words from a lovely poem
on the Retro Beach set.

As an after thought I added some more stamping
using the seaweed from Playful Penguins
and water coloured them in.

And my final elements are the crab from
Crazy Monsters which was coloured with pencils,
some little crabs from Something Fishy which were left as they are,
and a stencil that has been cut down to create an ocean floor.
