ATC cards inspiration by Kate

this is my last post for Rubber Dance, after many months of great fun with awesome stamps I had to leave because of other crafty responsibilities. As last post I created mixed media ATC cards. I used tons of different stamps. I love combination of dark background with simple black embossed images.

Playful Penguin Card by Dot Leathbridge

 Hi everyone. One of the good things to come out of the pandemic is the reinforcement of how so very special our friends are. So this card is for all our friends, near and far. Would you like to see how it was made? I have a step x step for you. And I made a little discovery that  uses masking (my favourite technique) but on a gel plate this time. The baby penguin, from Playful Penguins ,  is the first thing to be stamped. Mask off the baby penguin, stamp the mom, masking off again. Then stamp the moon from Celestial and the floating ice sheets from Playful Penguins . It's surprising how many stamps are in this set. I stamped the waves once, then masked the top of it so that I could add the seal. I wanted it to look like he is popping up out of the water to say hello. After all, fall/autumn is all around us (here in the north, anyway), and we do love its glorious colours! We hope you do, too, when you create an entry (or three) for our October Challenge: Did you know that "fall" is an Old English word? It replaced the word 'harvest' in the early 1600s as more people started moving into cities. City dwellers began to use the phrase 'fall of the leaf'' and, over time, the phrase was shortened to fall. Surprisingly, etymologists don’t know where the word "autumn" comes from. It was used as far back at the 1300s (by Chaucer), and Shakespeare often used the word, too. As English spread to the New World, the common season names split as well and today, American English uses the word fall while British English...

Atc´s Textured Flowers

H ello and welcome to today's inspiration Friday. How is everyone? I enjoy and have a lot of fun  colorful Atc´s. I hope you like them. I have been playing with Rubber Dance's   Mixed media marks  ,   Grungy Sequins   ,   Collage Elemnts  and   Textured Flowers Very easy to do, we started. We cut watercolor paper to a size of 2.5 x 3.5 inches. In my case, the paper is smooth and hot pressed, and I color the backgrounds with inks. When the backgrounds dries (we can speed up the process with a heat gun) we're going to add texture and depth with permanent black ink, and with oxide inks here and there. Later, I emboss in white, choose one of the stamps from the set  Mixed media marks .  To add depth and highlight the background, a sewing machine stitch. I choose one of the stamps from the Textured Flowers set, stamp it on a book sheet and then cut it out and integrate it into the composition. Now I leave you some photos with details of the p...
