Christmas Robin by Samantha Read

Hello, Samantha here today and I'd like to share with you a bespoke Christmas decoration that is so easy... I may make a whole flock.
I love sparkle all year round so of course Christmas creations have plenty of sparkle, which doesn't all show in photographs, but it is there!

I began by making my base using scrap of cardboard all cut to the same size, these were 11 cms by 2 cms.

I then adhered them, one on top of the other.

I then covered the card board base using tissue paper, this can be any colour because it was painted.

Once dry, I gave my base a coat of white gesso, then a sky blue paint. I then used PVA glue to get the crackle effect I wanted. It's easy to do. Paint a generous layer of PVA glue and whilst it is still wet paint the colour that will be crackled over the top. This needs a light touch or you just mix glue and paint. As it dries a wonderful crackle is achieved.

Stamp, colour and cut out the robin and the holly, they work so well together!

To complete I added some white, snow paste and some glitter glue for sparkle and simply adhered the robin and holly in place. Final touches were glossy accents to the holly berries.

I do hope you like it and I have inspired you, thank you for looking.

Wishing you a lovely day, Samantha :)

The stamps I used are:

Textured Birds

and Textured Christmas Green
