CAS Friday, Card by Dot

Hi there!

Today it's my turn for another CASual Friday post. I've used the "Take The Plunge" and "Whimsical Summer" stamp sets to make a fun Summer card.

I've used a reverse mask to make a circle through which I've added colour and also stamped a sun.  The swimmer is stamped firstly onto the card itself, followed by stamping her onto some scrap card and cutting out only her body. This was then adhered to the card.  I was able to colour her arms without them being discoloured by the yellow ink in the circle.

CASology Challenge #213: Stitch - Card by Bibi

The cue word at the CASology challenge this week is STITCH, so without further ado - here's my card: Stamps used (all from Rubber Dance): Giraffe , Mannequin from Sew Sweet ,  X stitches from Stitch & Frame . Stamped with Archival Ink (coffee), coloured in with Distress inks (tea dye and mermaid lagoon). After all, fall/autumn is all around us (here in the north, anyway), and we do love its glorious colours! We hope you do, too, when you create an entry (or three) for our October Challenge: Did you know that "fall" is an Old English word? It replaced the word 'harvest' in the early 1600s as more people started moving into cities. City dwellers began to use the phrase 'fall of the leaf'' and, over time, the phrase was shortened to fall. Surprisingly, etymologists don’t know where the word "autumn" comes from. It was used as far back at the 1300s (by Chaucer), and Shakespeare often used the word, too.
