Hi everyone,    Today it's my turn to show you a little tutorial, making these clean and simple cards with the new stamps. They are amazing, so beautiful!!    I used Pencil Marks #5 Carved Collection #4 Just A Note I stamped the background with the little stamps from Carved Collection #4. You can see it below. I made a passepartout and glued the background behind. I stamped the flowers and leave in black ink. On a few leftovers I stamped the sentiments and cut them out. There you are, in a very simple way you've two beautiful cards.  The stamp...

Vintage Antique Botanical Card by Ellie Knol

Image
Ellie here today...  sharing a vintagy card on book paper...   The flower looks as if it has been made for this ..  Adding a white watered down white gesso tones down the script on the bookpaper, and also lightens it a bit. The gesso also forms a barrier so the paper will not soke up all the color when adding color to the images. I colored the flowers with Ecoline, a fluid watercolor and added a few more touches with a water-based ink marker.   The edges were sponged inward towards the image with a light blue distress ink.. where there is no gesso on the edges it will take up more color as to where there is gesso.  To make the flower pop even more I added more white acrylic (also watered down to blend into the background better) around the image.  The rest of the card speaks for itself I assume.  Have a good day!     Hi everyone,    Mariken here, with a mini tutorial for you,  making these ATC cards  with the new and beautiful Sketchy Flowers #3.    I used Sketchy Flowers #3 Four Seasons I stamped the background with Distress Ink, blue, green and purple colors, see below. Journal Steps with Inky Friends by Ellie Knol

A fun mixed media art journal page: a step-by step from me, Ellie Knol today.  Start by decoupaging a paper napkin to cardstock. It's more about the colors than the images ...  Sponge over a stencil with a terra red acrylic paint (Fresco Finish Brown Shed) as shown.   Use the same stencil and apply modeling paste here and there.  While the modeling paste is still wet, sprinkle a teal embossing ( Verdigris from Ranger) on a few of the numbers, here and there, and heat emboss it.  Now the numbers are in 3 different colors... a bit much,  .. so, apply white gesso with your fingers and knock down areas and in different directions. Create a 'Frame' by tearing the edges and sponging it with Cracked Pistachio Distress and Distress Oxide inks.  Stamp in the background with the  Grungy Swirls  stamp and  Old Book Page  script with a dark brown.  Stamp the butterflies on separate cardstock with a dark brown stamping ink, fussycut th...

Kitty Christmas by Samantha Read

Hello, Samantha here today and I'm sharing with you a page I made for my art journal which was inspired by my cat, Tom, who used to love playing with the baubles on the Christmas tree each year. He would always knock off the red baubles first! It was a fun page to make, for the background I used distress inks, lustre sprays and the Pines Fir Yew stamp set to make my tree. I then used Purr-fect! and Textured Christmas Green stamp sets to decorate my bauble. I made the bauble by die cutting a circle, painting and adding the fixture and string at the top. The fixture is simply cut from white card also and painted gold. To finish I added some string and some glossy accents to the holly berries. I really wanted to add glossy accents to the whole of the bauble but guessed I would run out lol. I do hope you like it, thanks so much for looking. Wishing you a lovely day, Samantha :) The stamps I used are: Purr-fect!  Pines Fir Yew and Textured Christmas Green

Inky Wild Doodle Collagestamping by Ellie Knol

Stamping with different single stamps to create one-of-a-kind collages is always fun to do!  I chose to keep it monochromatic, but of course I could've used different colors too.  Start off by sponging Worn Lipstick Distress Ink onto two card fronts as shown with a mask.  (Both masks used here are from Paper Artsy).  Stamp all the different single stamps one by one and masking off the ones that have been stamped already. I started with the flower, then the butterfly, then the doodled greenery and the script.  To finish it off: color the images you want to pop as shown with a watercolor pencil. I applied a water diluted white acrylic paint to one leaf only before coloring. This made the stenciled color a lighter version.  Add some highlights with a white acrylic marker.    Rubber Dance Stamps: The Rubber Dance Webshop Flowers Gone Wild Doodle flowers Inky Friends Mixed Media Marks

Treemendous Fun! by Samantha Read

Hello, Samantha here today and I'm sharing with you how I made three really quick Christmas cards.  I used the fabulous Textured Christmas Trees, they're so fun and look great using traditional Christmas colours or bright and funky colours like I have used. I've recently discovered gilding flakes and just about every thing I make has some silver or gold on it, they really do add the perfect bling! My little Christmas cards are 9 cm squared and using a Sizzix die they have a faux postage effect. Cut these first so you know what size to cut your background pieces. I used distress inks for all my colours for these cards, This is my background, I swished my card in some spritzed ink, I love the random/watercolour effect using this method. Stamp and cut three trees, I clear embossed to get a nice, crisp image I can add water to. Using the same method as the background I coloured my trees. Using the small hearts stamp and the same colour I added a little detail to the background....
