Playful Colorful Flowers by Ellie Knol

Ellie here today.. happy to be here in good health...

Playful, colorful, alcohol ink on yupo, background, mixed media... these are labels that I can classify these mixed media cards with..

Please follow me in my process...

Stamp the flowers from the Flowers Gone Wild stamp set onto a colorful background and fussycut these flowers. Add extra color with a brush and Distress Oxide ink.

On the right hand side the leftover piece of the background I used to stamp the flowers on; I've used the yellowish part mostly. Yes, I forgot to photograph it before stamping and cutting, sorry..
Create three cardbases from yupo paper and alcohol inks in orange and blue colors to match the colors of the flowers.

As I stamped on a colorful background, I added some white to the flowers with an off-white acrylic marker.

Stamp with different stamps in the background using a color that blends in with the background. I love this effect...
The Mixed Media Marks stamp set is ideal for this... and of course script stamps, for example the Art Defined stamp.

Assemble as shown.

To make the flower pop even more I added a strip of white punched cardstock with a torn edge.

The raster stamp from the Mixed Media Marks stamp set adds a bookpaper feel to it.

I am not a big fan of alcohol inks, but I think these backgrounds turned out beautifully...
and.. never try to dry yupo paper with a heattool.. I learned that from this project, lol..
hope you haven't see that.. ..

Be inspired, and see you next time!!
