Turtley Awesome by Samantha Read

Hello, Samantha here today, I do hope you are keeping well. Sadly some of us may have had to recently change our summer holiday plans, so here's a little summery craft idea to make a little bit of holiday at home, using the wonderful Rubber Dance Textured Sea Creatures stamp set.

You'll probably have everything you need already in your craft room and home to make this project based on an old snow globe shaker. I did find a baby food jar the perfect size but of course you could go as big or small as you would like.

Give your lid a few coats of gesso ready for colour and stamp your focal image on shrink plastic using Staz On Jet Black.

I painted my lid with acrylic paint and the shrink plastic with Posca pens.

Using a glue gun adhere a pebble to the inside of the lid and adhere your turtle in place, making sure everything is central, so that you can get the lid on.

Add sparkles, and a few drops of glycerine to water, (the glycerine thickens the water and keeps your sparkles floating for longer). It's important to raise the focal image or it can disappear in to the depth of the lid.

To finish and decorate my shaker, I used the Journal Words stamp and stamped 'journey' on to shrink plastic and pierced the holes before shrinking, I threaded it on to wire and added some beads.

I do hope I may have inspired you to have a go at making your own, please join us on Facebook in the 'Rubber Dance Stamping Lounge' to share your creations.

Wishing you a lovely day, thanks for looking,
Sam :)
