Wild Flowers Postcard by Ellie Knol

Image
Hi, Ellie with you today..  Color is everywhere out in nature; a lot of rain turned it to a full spring of growth and color.  Collaging elements is a technique I love, and it never bores.  Creating the background first and then add the fussycut element, the flower.  I've colored the flower a while ago when cleaning my watercolor pallette. Nothing goes to waste this way.  I hope you find some inspiration in my creation of today!  Have a good weekend!  Rubber Dance Stamps: The Rubber Dance Webshop Flowers Gone Wild Art Defined Mixed Media Marks Vintage P:ostcard

Mixed Media Collage material by Ellie Knol

Today's inspiration from me (Ellie) will be creating a basic surface for your stash to easily tear and use as collage material on any project.   What am I talking about?  Creating background papers for collage. I saw a You Tube video from Susanne Rose, the owner of Rubber Dance as you certainly know,  creating background papers on rice paper on the gelliplate.  I  had an 'aha' moment and decided to share this way of making collage papers.  Basically you need a very thin paper, rice paper, or even thinner: tissue paper. The better it collages without showing an edge where it gets decoupaged to, the better it is to use in collages.    I mostly chose background and script stamps as they can easily be used in a background as collage material.  **** To show you how I use this on a project, I've made a collage in an art journal with gesso and color.   Tear the paper to pieces, easy way is to use a thin wet brush and mark the line yo...

Hold on tight to your dreams

Image
Hi friends! How is everyone? Lisa today and I'd love to share with you my new art journal inspiration playing with some fabulous Rubber Dance stamps and acrylic paints! To start I brushed a coat of white gesso and then I used some of my favorite acrylic paints directly with my fingers. So I made a little stamping with Rubber Dance Mixed Media stamps and archival inks. I took a butterfly from Inky Friends stamp set and I stamped It on a piece of patterned paper. I glued it before on a piece of black cardstock and then I cutted it and glued as the focal point of my page with a sticker. Finally I made many splatters with black liquid paint. I used these products from the shop: https://www.rubberdance.de/big-sheets/mixed-media-marks/#cc-m-product-14348286233 https://www.rubberdance.de/big-sheets/inky-friends/#cc-m-product-14383086833 I hope you enjoyed my art journal inspiration for today! Hugs, Lisa
