Rubber Dance Art Stamps - Blog

 Hello arty friends, how are you? I was playing with the Pencil Marks #5 set recently and loved the retro vibe one of the stamps was giving me so I thought I'd make something for the blog. I used my favourite Distress Oxide technique to create some backgrounds (you can never have enough backgrounds, right?!). I just swipe a few colours on my craft mat, spritz with water and mop up with card or paper until I like the effect. You have to experiment a little bit - some papers work better than others. I chose a yellow piece for the background and cut it into a square to fit my card. Then I picked 3 complimentary colours for the circles and stamped 3 of each colour. Next I stamped 3 lines on the background for the circles to sit on. I cut out the  circles and glued them onto the background - I experimented until I liked the layout. After that I felt like the card needed something else, and eventually I decided to stamp another one of the images from the set onto the same yellow car...

I've been playing with  Mixed media marks ,   Round in circles ,  Inky Flowers   ,   and   , Mix a sentiment 2      to create a page in my Art Journal. I hope you like. O n an A4 watercolor card I played with spray inks and some rubber dance stamps to create the background. I cut to the size of an A6 and started stamping different stamps with oxide inks in tones similar to the background to add texture to the page. I chose the moth from the set   Inky Flowers   , it is colored with watercolor pencils, One of the parts that I enjoy the most is the composition, I have to admit that it is  usually the part that takes me the most.  Hi arty friends, How are you? I've been playing with some brand new stamps, aren't they lovely? I started by swiping some Distress Oxides on my craft mat, spritzing with water, then dipping my stamps in the ink and stamping on a piece of mixed media paper. I really like the multi-coloured effect you can get like this. I used black ink to stamp the leaf shape across the page. Next I used some Distress Crayons in matching colours to add some mark making and pops of colour. I used the same swiping technique to create a pink/orange background, dried it and then stamped some flowers, which I cut out. I also decided to use one of the other stamps from the set on a green gelliprint that was on my desk, then cut out the shapes. Finally I assembled all the elements on the background until I was happy with the design and then glued everything down.  Naturally I also added a quote! I created a square card for you today!  I created the circle by monoprinting with Distress Oxide inks on a 10 cm round gelliplate.  The black stamping was heat embossed in clear, the images colored extra with regular watercolors.  Yes, I got a little carried away with drawing some circles, but I had fun.  The background was toned down with watered-down white acrylic paint, and along with stamping some sequins, I also added real ones.    Rubber Dance Stamps: The Rubber Dance Webshop Sketchy Flowers #1 Grungy Sequins Old Book Page

 Hello arty friends, How are you all? We are having very strange, mixed weather in this part of the world, quite a lot of rain and not very summery at all. Which got me thinking about how different holidays are for a lot of us at the moment, so I created a "Staycation" postcard. I have a set of blank watercolour postcards which I used for this.  I used the Happy Place stamp set to stamp some images on watercolour paper.  I used watercolours to colour some of these in and used coloured pencils to add some shading. Next I used one of the stamps from the Pencil Marks #1 set, embossing ink and clear embossing powder to add some texture to the background, followed by Oxide Inks in shades of blue & green. I wiped over the whole postcard with a piece of kitchen towel to make the white embossed area stand out, then stamped some gold stars on the dark blue area.  Hello arty friends, how are you all doing? I haven't used my Sarcastic Superpower stamps for a while and I really love them, so I thought I'd use them for this blog post. I wanted to make some ATCs, so first I created 2 backgrounds with my Distress Oxides, one using warm tones and one using cool ones. I began by swiping the ink on my craft mat, spritzing with water and swiping the card through the ink. I used leaf stamps and the same colours I used for the background to add some stamping to the green page. I used Distress Crayons in similar shades to intensify the colours and add some mark making. Next I stamped flowers on the red background and cut them out. I cut the green card into ATC sized pieces, arranged the flowers o  the cards and then glued them down.  I chose a few Tim Holtz Photo Booth pictures and stamped some sentiments onto cream paper and cut them out. I enjoyed matching the quotes to the faces! I added them to the ATCs, and finished with a bit of shading...
