Artist Trading Coins with Fly Fly Flowers

Hello Rubber Dance friends.  Gail here today with a little experiment I thought I'd try.  I wanted to make some Artist Trading Coins with the lovely Fly Fly Flowers stamp.  This is quite a tall stamp and my idea was to use the leaves bit as the ATCoins background and then add the little butterflies and dragonfly as the focal point.  I also decided I wanted to use black card as the base!!

Quite cute eh??

I started with some Blackberry Bazzill card and stamped the leaves with Salty Ocean distress oxide ink.  It looked lovely wet, but when it dried to that lovely chalky look it didn't give me the contrast I was hoping for....

So I tried again with Mowed Lawn distress oxide, and then with Taylored Expressions Sugar Cube ink.  I loved the white, but I was really looking for colours, so I decided to try stamping the green on the white.  The third image is that combo and the white did lift the green colour a bit.  Make sure your let the inks dry between stamping.  I don't know what effect mixing them will have on your ink pads, so experiment at your peril LOL.  I do know that getting green on your white ink pad is probably not so good.....

I cut my coins using a 2.5" stitched edge circle die.  Most stacking circle die sets in inches have this die size.  So now I have a choice!!

I decided to use the green stamped on white.  I stamped the insects on white card using black archival and fussy cut.  The one butterfly is partially covered by the dragonfly so, to make things simple, I decided to stamp the dragonfly twice.  I added them to the coins and edged them with Mowed Lawn distress oxide and done!

Hope you enjoyed my little project today and maybe go look at your stamps and see how you can use them in a different way.  Take care, stay safe.  Hugz
