Beautiful Feather Card by Samantha Read

Hello, there are times when we need to make a quick card for someone so I'd like to share with you this card that can easily be adapted to any occasion just by changing the sentiment.


For my card I used the Textured Feathers, Bold and Beautiful and Small Grungy Butterflies stamp sets. One of the things I love about all the Rubber Dance stamp sets is that they all work together so well and you can use just one stamp from a set at a time or all of them. You can't go wrong!
I used Sizzix dies for the faux postage stamp and for the added accents. Distress Inks and watercolours were used to colour and I almost always clear emboss my main images to keep them crisp and clear during the colouring process.


Finishing touches were added with a white pen and black ink splats.


I added metallic accents to give some contrast and shine.

Rubber Dance June Challenge

Hello everyone and welcome to a new month and a brand new challenge here at the Rubber Dance blog!  For most of us up here in the north, June is the first month of summer and with summer come flowers in bright and happy colours. Ellie Knol Mixed Media Cards

Hi everyone! Ellie Knol gladly accepted my invitation to guest design, and today I want to show you some beautiful cards she made using stamps from the set called Vintage Birds, and the background stamp called Vintage Script. I think these cards are really cool and I hope you will like them as much as I do! A closer look at some details:    Start off with a suitable piece of scrapbook paper. Both feathers have been heat embossed in black. I added some cheese cloth,  photo-film, a frame covered with some texture paste, and used a stencil to add texture with the same texture paste.
