"Polaroid" Sleeve by Angie Coomber

Hello arty friends,

Angie here with another project for you.

This time I was inspired by a project I saw on Instagram, created by the talented @little_pink_sheep .

I made up the measurements myself and have written them on the project for you, but of course you can adjust them to make any size you like.

Once you have a template you can use it to draw around and make more sleeves/cards!
I used scrapbook paper to make mine.

Once the frame is cut out, turn it over and adhere double sided tape as shown in the photo below.

Next, cut a strip of acetate, in this case 8cm wide, fold in half and stick it down on the right hand side. (You could also use a clear plastic bag, like the ones used for greetings cards - but I didn't have any of those.)

Trim off any excess acetate.

Gather some pieces of ephemera and images you want to use (the stamped images I used here are from the Doodle Flowers set) and then arrange them on the acetate. Small punched shapes or confetti are a really nice addition). Once you're happy with the layout, carefully close up the acetate. I like to staple the sides to make sure everything stays in place.
However, if you leave the top open you can use it as a sleeve to hold bits and pieces of ephemera to give to a friend, rather than use it as a card.

Stick the front cover down over the acetate,

turn over, and glue down the flap at the bottom.

Finally, add a stamped quote on the front. (Here I've used a stamp from the Sarcastic Superpower set.)

These are really satisfying to make and would be lovely for keeping special tickets, photos, pressed flowers...so many ideas!
Hope you like it.

Hugs from Angie x
