OCTOBER NEWS AND INSPIRATION

Hello Rubber Dance fans.  Gail here today to kick off the new month at the Rubber Dance blog. 

It's October and here in the Northern hemisphere we are seeing definite signs that summer is over and Autumn is here.  This month's challenge inspiration photo is suitably seasonal and that hedgehog is just too cute!!!  Although you don't have to use either in your makes!  As long as they feature Rubber Dance stamps you are good!!


 Our monthly challenges are now based in our FB fan group.  The colours for the October challenge are Yellow, Dark Brown and Burnt Sienna and/or you can go for the Anything Goes theme.  Link up your makes using the colours and/or theme using Rubber Dance stamps and you might be the lucky winner of a €15 voucher.




We are very pleased to welcome our guest designer for October.....Astrid Galjaard


Astrid is from the Netherlands and lives on an island called Texel.  She says:
I am married to a great man, and we have 1 son, a daughter in law and a beautiful granddaughter.  I have been crafting many many years, first as a Parchment teacher, than making cards, and now I have fallen in love with art journaling and mixed media.
I see and learn a lot on youtube and facebook and I love it.
We don’t have any hobby shops on the island so I order everything on internet.

Blog Hoppin' Superpowers

Rubber Dance has gained a following of stampers that love our Sarcasm Superpowers sentiment stamps. These aren't exactly our best seller stamps (not very surprisingly), but if you love them, you'll LOVE them! And this particular group of followers certainly do - not very surprisingly at all with a group name like theirs .... namely the  Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers! (I know, right? Too darn cute!) These fine ladies have bullied me and some of my designers into a blog hop featuring our Sarcasm Superpower stamps. It didn't take much persuation, nor any bribes to speak of. Just mention  "challenge", and we'll be all over you like underfed fruitflies on a brown banana. And that's what the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is all about - a challenge blog with new challenges every other week. Fasten your seat belts and enjoy the bumpy ride! Easel Card With Textured Flowers

Hello.  Welcome.  Gail from the design team here today with a project using the new Textured Flowers stamps.  I loved these the moment I saw them.  Big beautiful blooms.  And many small er stamps for adding leaves and texture.   I decided to make a Twisted Easel Card.  There are many tutorials available but I used this one by Lois.  So here's my card using Textured Flowers and of course, a giraffe .......... I was inspired by the Rubber Dance challenge colours which for June are: I stamped the large simple daisy, masked and stamped two more.  I added the giraffe from African Animals .  I think I'll call her Daisy. I thought it looked a bit empty so I stamped more daisies...... and coloured with distress and d y e inks.  I stamped and embossed three of the doodled flowers and the giraffe, fussy cut and added them to my panel.  I used brads and a Cheery Lynn die cut for the flower centers.  I also doodled a little faux stitching
