Gelli Print Stamping on a Card by Dot

Hi everyone,
Today I'm sharing a tutorial with you that uses Distress Inks on a round Gelli Plate along with some stamping. This is a fun technique which I hope you decide to have a go at.

The main stamps used are from a newly released stamp set called Textured Sea Creatures.

And the words are from Think Again.

I've mainly used the colours from this month's challenge.
Orange and pink are one of my favourite colour combinations.

Have you grabbed a cuppa yet?
I invite you to sit back and get ready to scroll down for a fun technique.

Step 1:  I've used my round gelli plate for this. Twist Picked Raspberry Distress Ink directly from your ink pad all over the gelli plate.  Wipe some colour from the centre with paper toweling. And then flick some watered down brusho's over the ink with a fan brush.

Step 2:  I've tipped the gelli plate upside down and placed it into the center of my card.  I repeated this process a few more times and printed around the outside of the card.  Hopefully you can see where the ink has been wiped away with the paper towel and where the watery brusho's have spread out.

Step 3:  Clean your gelli plate and stamp with one of the background stamps from the Textured Sea Creatures using Picked Raspberry Oxides. Start in the center of the gelli plate and then stamp around the edges until it is covered.
Because the gelli plate is clear it is quite easy to place the gelli plate back over the original print. The stamped image shows up quite well. It helped that I'd wiped away a little of the distress ink before splattering the brusho's on.

Step 4:  Blend an orange distress ink, any will do, through a circle stencil.  The circles fit the theme so far.

Step 5:  Stamp and colour a large and small seahorse from the stamp set. The starfish have been stamped and left with no colour.  Cut all the elements out and edge with a little black soot distress ink.

Step 6:  To finish off I've chosen a favourite sentiment of mine from the Think Again stamp set.  The Textured Sea Creatures set has a heap of fun stamps as extras. I've used the spirals to add some more interesting circles and stamped them with black ink and orange oxides. On the gelli prints, and around some of the words, I've added some detail with a white gel pen. Finally sticking my stamped elements down with some glue.

I hope that you've enjoyed with tutorial.

Please don't forget that we have a challenge each month.

Happy Stamping!
