A mixed media travel card


Hello everyone, it's Susanne again with a mixed media travel card. I used the Rubber Dance Travel stamp set. It's one of my favourites because it's so vintage an the images are adorable!

Here is a tutorial on how I created this card:


First of all I started with some stenciling. I used a stencil (one from Theresa Collins) and some Distress Ink Walnut Stain and blended the color (using the round blending tool) form the outside to the middle. After that, I stamped the Vintage Globe Map and the Vintage Hotel Recipe with some Archival Ink Coffee.


In the next step I distressed my paper a little bit more by coloring the edges with Distress Ink Walnut Stain and some stenciling using the Tim Holtz Speckles Stencil. I also altered the edges with my craft knife.

I stamped my main image (Venezia), the Compass and the Sentiment on some white paper and distressed the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink (I used my craft knife to alter the edges of the sentiment a little bit more). I colored my main image and the compass also with Distress Inks. I've got a video for you on how I created the woodgrain background. You need some craft cardstock, gesso, gelatos and a black pen.



I distressed the background using the Speckles stencil again and wiped with a baby wipe over the woodgrain background. Because it's created with Gelatos on some Gesso the color will wipe away.

Easel Card With Textured Flowers

Hello.  Welcome.  Gail from the design team here today with a project using the new Textured Flowers stamps.  I loved these the moment I saw them.  Big beautiful blooms.  And many small er stamps for adding leaves and texture.   I decided to make a Twisted Easel Card.  There are many tutorials available but I used this one by Lois.  So here's my card using Textured Flowers and of course, a giraffe .......... I was inspired by the Rubber Dance challenge colours which for June are: I stamped the large simple daisy, masked and stamped two more.  I added the giraffe from African Animals .  I think I'll call her Daisy. I thought it looked a bit empty so I stamped more daisies...... and coloured with distress and d y e inks.  I stamped and embossed three of the doodled flowers and the giraffe, fussy cut and added them to my panel.  I used brads and a Cheery Lynn die cut for the flower centers.  I also doodled a little faux stitching

Blog Hoppin' Superpowers

Rubber Dance has gained a following of stampers that love our Sarcasm Superpowers sentiment stamps. These aren't exactly our best seller stamps (not very surprisingly), but if you love them, you'll LOVE them! And this particular group of followers certainly do - not very surprisingly at all with a group name like theirs .... namely the  Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers! (I know, right? Too darn cute!) These fine ladies have bullied me and some of my designers into a blog hop featuring our Sarcasm Superpower stamps. It didn't take much persuation, nor any bribes to speak of.
