Rubber Dance Art Stamps - Blog

Hi again sweet Rubber Dance friends.  Ingunn here with my second post as this month's Guest Designer.  For the last month I have been almost obsessed with ultra thick embossing powder, or UTEE.  This is my first attempt to work on a canvas, but these butterflies are to heavy to go on a card.  For the background to make the textured columns I used pieces from a silk blouse with sequins and ribbons.  I also used acrylic paints, Gesso and texture paste.   I have used Grungy Butterfly #4 , Mix A Sentiment #1 ,  Grungy Borders and Grungy Stuff .  What I wanted to achieve was to make the butterflies into an "enamel jewelry piece".   This is one way to do it with a regular heat gun. (its messy, but totally fun) You need a box to put the UTEE in and a heat resistant one to do the melting in if you want minimum mess.  Then you need your stamped images ready colored and embossed, and an embossing pad.  Start by ...

Hi there,  its Astrid again, with a Halloween tag, to show you everything is possible for Halloween with the right colours. I used a normal tag and glued some paper on it, then I put Distress Oxide Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin and Vintage Photo on it, and the edges with Walnut Stain. The Ruler is paper from Tim Holtz. And the bone hand too. I used the Textured Mushrooms stamp set. The leaves dies is from my stash. The poison, warning and the spider are from internet. I hope you like it. Astrid

Hello everyone,  Astrid here, I am the Guest Designer for the month of October. Today I will show you a Mixed Media project with the Textured Mushrooms stamps. I used different Distress ink for the background and lots of stamps from my stash. I coloured the Mushrooms and Acorns with the same distress ink colours. Guest designing is always a honour to me, and I want to thank Susanne for this chance to feature her beautiful stamps!  This is not the first time I am a guest designer for Rubberdance; I did some guest designing a few years ago as well.  Today a series of five cards... with the beautiful  Doodle Flowers  stamp set. I totally went for the images, and 'forgot' to use the monthly color for September.  ENJOY.. I added some details through the post.   Starting with a colorful watercolored background  is always a good start.  I chose to stamp right onto the background, and not fussy cut the main images. I used Versafine black and heat embossed it in clear.   Masking the main image and stamp in the background with the leaf images, using a stamping platform. Hello! I'm so excited to be here!  My name is Angie, I love mixed media, art journaling in particular, but also anything miniature, altered art, altered books, making cards, ATCs...you get the picture!  If it involves paper and paints I'm there. My biggest influences over the last few years have been Kate Crane, Tracy Scott and of course Susanne! For this post I decided to make an art journal page, so here goes. I started off by painting my background, using turquoise, green, pink and a little bit of white acrylic paint. I added some stencilling and mark making, using the same colours. Next some rubber stamping in black - I was once taught to use 3 different background stamps and group them together on different areas of the page and i think it works quite well. I added some patches of white paint and black paint, using my fingers. And some gold splatter! I don't  think I've done many pages without a little bit of gold splatter....

Good Day All, Today it's my pleasure to share with you another project I've created using the wonderful Red Rubber Stamps by Rubber Dance Stamps .  For Today's project I used the super cute 'Fish Swim Love' set of stamps; I've combined them with a background I created on a Round Gelli Plate with Paint Pens. Here's a peek at my finished card; First of all I'd like to show you how I created the background scene for my Fishes.  I used a Round Gelli Plate along with a selection of Posca Paint Pens. The first layer in green, Then pale blue, Followed by dark blue, The Final Layer of Paint Pens in brown and black. I then sponged on a layer of Prussian Blue, Cerulean Blue and Titanium White blended together. Finally I pulled my print to reveal my background scene. I then stamped out some Fish, A large one onto a piece of Yellow Gelli Print, and the small fish I stamped in orange, pink and purple. Next I die cut...

Good Day All,  I'm Suzi and it's my honour to be Guest Designer for the month of May.  I'm super excited to share with you my first project using the gorgeous Beautiful You Stamp set . Here's my card Here's how I made it; First of all I created my background paper, using some texture plates, wax resist crayons and Inktense Blocks Once my background was dry, I selected an area I liked and trimmed it down to fit a 5 x 7 in card front, I trimmed it to 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 as I wanted to add a layer of coloured card between this and the card blank. I stamped my image using Midnight Blue Stazon Ink Then I coloured my image with Inktense Pencils Next I decided to add some contrast to the background paper, stamping the sentiment a few times, and adding some stripes of ink across the center of the card I layered my background onto some dark orange card stock and added some cotton thread around the center for added texture.
