Happy Flowers ► Majo

Good morning, crafty friends.

Spring is finally here, so I decided to create a card for all occasions using Textured Flowers and a sentiment from the YOU ROCK set.


I started by stamping a whole bunch of flowers and leaves and coloured them with Distress Spray stain.  I wanted more delicate leaves as well, so I just drew them on a piece of water color paper and fussy cut some.




After cutting my jar (it's a Memory Box die) I assembled all my images, added some linen thread and a Rub On from Tim Holtz.

I used the beautiful sentiment from the YOU ROCK on the inside.

This looks like it's a lot of work, but I always have a bunch of flowers stamped and cut. So when I need a rather quick card, all I have to do is color them according to the occasion and I'm all set.

CASology Challenge #213: Stitch - Card by Bibi

The cue word at the CASology challenge this week is STITCH, so without further ado - here's my card: Stamps used (all from Rubber Dance): Giraffe , Mannequin from Sew Sweet ,  X stitches from Stitch & Frame . Stamped with Archival Ink (coffee), coloured in with Distress inks (tea dye and mermaid lagoon). After all, fall/autumn is all around us (here in the north, anyway), and we do love its glorious colours! We hope you do, too, when you create an entry (or three) for our October Challenge: Did you know that "fall" is an Old English word? It replaced the word 'harvest' in the early 1600s as more people started moving into cities. City dwellers began to use the phrase 'fall of the leaf'' and, over time, the phrase was shortened to fall. Surprisingly, etymologists don’t know where the word "autumn" comes from. It was used as far back at the 1300s (by Chaucer), and Shakespeare often used the word, too.
