Rubber Dance Art Stamps - Blog

Ellie here today, I hope you are doing fine!  This card has a little bit of a history; one I did not see coming, lol.  Earlier this week I decided I would want to use the  Textured Houses  stamp set for today's post. Got me thinking to search for a suitable background: something with blue on it for clouds and yellow to make it a sunny card. I found a background in my stash, a quite big one of which I cut backgrounds for 2 cards.  Then suddenly I had an AHA moment: I've done this before! Same idea, same colors and same stamps: in  this  post!!  I stuck to my plan and decided to not fussycut the houses, but stamp them directly onto the background.  The HOW-TO from here onward:  - Stamp the tiny houses and stars onto the background and heat emboss with clear. - Color the houses with watercolors.  - Add white accents with a ... ... gelly roller.  - Add a pavement with the 'bricks' stamp from the same stamp set.  - Stamp some M...

 Hi friends!  Lisa today with my new art journal inspiration for you with some awesome Rubber Dance stamps! First I stamped some branches with versamark pad and I embossed them with white powder. Then I used some Distress Oxide as watercolors to give color to the background. I used Mix A Sentiment 3 with archival ink for little details. I stamped a Butterfly from Inky Friends stamp set and I used it as the focal point of the page with a sentiment. Finally I made splatters with black liquid paint to add a little contrast to my art journal inspiration.  Hi friends! Lisa here today and I'm happy to share with you my new art journal inspiration for Rubber Dance design team! To start I took a piece of watercolor paper and I used a pink Distress Oxide to color the background. So I used Mixed Media Marks clear stamps with Pink archival ink. I used yellow and blue Distress Oxide on other papers and I stamped a birdie from Sketchy Birds and a rainbow from Pencil Marks clear stamps. Finally I added a sentiment and splatters with teal liquid paint.  Hi friends! Lisa today with you with my new art journal inspiration for Rubber Dance design team playing with Distress Oxide and some fabulous stamps! I took a piece of watercolor paper and I used some Distress Oxide colors on it with a little of water on a piece of plastic paper. I let it dry as well with the heat gun so I used Mixed Media Marks stamp set with archival inks. Then I took Textured Birds stamp set and I used a little birdie on a piece of watercolored paper. I added a sticker with a sentiment for my page and finally I made splatters with black liquid paint to add more depth.   Did you ever think of water coloring a stamped image by just using the stamp as the sketch? It's a lazy way of watercoloring lol .  Here's the very easy How-To:   1. Stamp the flower from stamp set  Sketchy Flowers #1  with a shadow ink onto watercolor paper. Stamp it on a piece of paper also with a darker ink to be a guide during the water coloring process, as some stamped lines might become a little invisible when adding darker colors.   2. Basically fill in with color one petal or leaf at a time, by wetting it a little with water with one brush and paint with another brush to add a base layer of color. Let the water do the work for you. Leave to dry.  3.  Add a layer of a warm yellow over the first layer of paint; this is called glazing. Make sure the yellow is not an opaque color. It will make the colors richer; blends all the colors a bit together too. Leave to dry. 4. Add depth to the images by adding a darker color of watercolor...

I created a square card for you today!  I created the circle by monoprinting with Distress Oxide inks on a 10 cm round gelliplate.  The black stamping was heat embossed in clear, the images colored extra with regular watercolors.  Yes, I got a little carried away with drawing some circles, but I had fun.  The background was toned down with watered-down white acrylic paint, and along with stamping some sequins, I also added real ones.    Rubber Dance Stamps: The Rubber Dance Webshop Sketchy Flowers #1 Grungy Sequins Old Book Page

Creating backgrounds with watercolors on watercolor paper is so much fun. Especially when the watercolors granulate a little.  When wet, place some household foil on top of the wet color, and leave to dry. It creates some unexpected texture.  Stamping adds to it all.
