Card Creations

Morning All - My name is Paula Whittaker and I'm here today as a guest showing some of my cards using the New Retro Beach set.
This is a super versatile set and once I started using them, I found it hard to put them down!

The card on your left measures 148x105mm and the other measures 4x4". To create them, I applied 2 different colours of distress inks Weathered Wood and Brushed Corduroy. To apply the inks I used a piece of Cut n Dry foam and just randomly rubbed them in places directly on the card blank front. I then sprinkled/flicked water over the card front and dabbed dry with a piece of kitchen paper.
I part stamped one of the quotes down the side of the card, stamped the main image and stamped a quote at the bottom of the card. I stamped my main image again on to a piece of coloured paper and cut the centre out and paper pieced over the image stamped on the card. I stamped the image again and just cut the shell out and paper pieced it on to the card. Finally, I took some Brushed Corduroy and Gathered Twigs around the card edges.

This next card is a very simple one measuring 4x4". I stamped the shells and seahorse on to some coloured paper trimmed them all out and used a ball tool on the reverse side to give them more of a 3d effect. The seaweed is made using the Tim Holtz Pine Cone die. I stamped the quote on to some pink coloured card and just trimmed each line out, I used silicon glue to attach the sea shells and sea horse to the card to give more depth/dimension.

My last card today uses Peacock Feathers distress ink, Versafine Smokey Grey and Archival Jet Black ink pads.

To start off with, I stamped the quote in grey ink, the word 'Memoirs' and then the star fish. I then stamped the boy in black on to the card front followed by stamping it on to some copier paper which I trimmed out to use as a mask. I placed the mask over the boy and then rubbed some Peacock Feathers ink around the boy. I then took a paint brush and scribbled around him too. I had a border die shape already cut out on my desk which I then used as a stencil across the middle and the top right corner of my card blank. I added some Tim Holtz rub-ons, a piece of net and fine fabric to finish this piece.

Well, I hope you've liked today's offerings as I shall be popping up again this month with a few more makes. See you then!

Paula

All absolutely brilliant, Paula. I really like those pink strips - not what you think of when you think of sea and beach but they work absolutely.
