Summer and Beach Card by Ellie Knol

Image
I played with some summer stamps; beachy ones.  The stamp sets are designed quite different, but it's fun to stamp different pictures on 3 centimeter square cards and make a picture collage. Enjoy your summer!    Rubber Dance Stamps: The Rubber Dance Webshop AHOY Retro Beach

CASology Challenge #214: Beach - 1st Card by Bibi

Image
This week's cue word at the CASology challenge is BEACH - one of my favourite words!  I love the beach, I love the view of the sea, I love the salt air in my hair (and nostrils), I love collecting shells, stones and other treasures from the beach, and I love beach stamps and beach cards. That's why it says "1st Card" in the headline, as I'm sure I will be making more than one for this challenge! (Edit: And I was right.... my second entry is here - on my brand new blog!) I stamped the three nautilus shells with Archival Coffee and coloured them in with Inktense watercolour pencils (baked earth and sun yellow), blended with a waterbrush. The text stamp is also stamped with Archival Coffee, it just looks a lot darker on the photo. Sun stamped with Distress Ink (fossilized amber) and coloured in with the same Inktense yellow as the shells. Top panel mounted on a slightly larger panel in matching yellow/orange on a white card base. All stamps by Rubber ...

Christmas Tag in July...

Image
Hi, Susan from the design team here.  This is my suggestion for Christmas in July. I took small pieces of paper and glued them on with matte medium. Then I painted with a brush in different places with blue, cream and yellow acrylic colors. At the top, I used my brayer to add white gesso to make it look like sand. Finally I sprayed the entire tag with glitter mist.  This was my base.  Then I cut and glued my stamped images and embellishments onto the tag. Christmas baubles are stamped with gray ink, punched and then covered with clear embossing powder. I have used the stamp sets  Take the Plunge and Christmas Cheers & Gift Tags This stamp I absolutely love, she looks far into the future ... Thank you for taking the time to visit the Rubber Dance blog. I wish you a nice day. Hugs, Susan ♥ ♥ ♥  SALE! SALE! SALE!  ♥ ♥ ♥ How about treating yourself to an early Christmas present? Rubber Dance Challenge - Christmas in July!

Image
Say WHAT? Christmas this time of year?? Well, it has to be winter somewhere , right?  ;-) Let's join our friends in the Southern Hemisphere who celebrate Christmas in the middle of their summer (i.e. December). Poor folks, right? But did you know that some of them actually celebrate Xmas twice - during their winter (which is now) as well? Let's be just as nutt y as they are and bring out those Christmas stamps while it's hot and sticky outside! And who knows, once those stamps are out... perhaps we'll make a few holiday cards and get a jump start on that pile of cards we think we'll have time for later, right before the real celebration in December. Need new Christmas stamps, you say? Look no further! We're having a Yule in July Special: ALL our glorious Christmas and Winter stamps are 20 % off this month !  If you would rather spend July at the beach, you are more than welcome to stamp a beach Christmas scene, as the moodboard for our Christmas in ...

ATB Retro Beach

Image
Guest Designer Craftyfield here with an inspiration piece around the Retro Beach set. Summer is nearly there and I am longing for a beach holiday so this is my way of getting there earlier! I created a cube of images with a 3" (7.5cm) Calico Craft Artist Trading Block, the perfect size for these images. Since a cube has six sides, it is almost enough to show off all the stamps in the Retro Beach plate In fact I only left out one stamp! On 3 sides I used Brushos and Infusions [1] powders on top of the stamped images (Versafine black) and on the 3 others I used coloured inks (Versacraft) as well as the black Versafine on an untouched watercolour paper. After drying and flattening the squares as much as I could, I applied several coats of DecoArt Ultra Matte varnish to protect them. Then they were glued (I used Mod Podge for that) to the MDF cube parts. You can pop over to my blog if you want to know more on how I put together the cube. On the left you can s...

Beach Film Strip by Susanne

Image
Hi my dear Rubber Dance Friends. Susanne writing today and I like to share a holiday film strip. I used the Take The Plunge and the Retro Beach stamp sets. I used washi tape to mask the filmstrip, which I printed with the computer. I picked Gold Rich embossing powder for the sun and Archival Ink Coffee for the sea shells. All the rest is stamped with Jet Black Archival Ink. I colored it with Neocolor crayons. I skribbled each crayon onto my craft mat and picked it up with a watertank brush. I stamped  the lovely Seahorse with Memento Luxe Teal Zeal. This one is cut out seperately. Thanks for stopping by today.  Susanne xx Stamp sets from Rubber Dance: Retro Beach Take The Plunge You will get 15% discount   on your next order in the Rubber Dance Online Store when you enter the coupon code " susanne2016 " during checkout. www.rubberdance.com

Artist Trading Blocks

Image
Morning All - Paula here again using the fab New Retro Beach Set . I actually made 2 ATB's which are identical apart from the base colour I used. The ATB's are 3'' x 3'' cubes made using Kraft card. I have my own template I use which I'm sharing here today - there are probably easier ways to do it but I found a way that suits me. Take an A4 piece of Kraft card and cut it to measure 4"x 10" - hopefully you can see the directions on the photo but basically along the 10" length score on the 1/2", 3.5", 6.5" and 9.5" marks. Along the 4" side score a 1/2" in on both sides of the card. Now cut a piece of Kraft card to measure 3" x 10" - score again along the 10" side at 1/2", 3.5", 6.5" and 9.5". The next step is to take a dry brush and a small amount of paint, in this case I used Dylusions Paint in Vibrant Turquoise (the 2nd cube was painted in DecoArt Americana ...

Card Creations

Image
Morning All - My name is Paula Whittaker and I'm here today as a guest showing some of my cards using the New Retro Beach set. This is a super versatile set and once I started using them, I found it hard to put them down! The card on your left measures 148x105mm and the other measures 4x4". To create them, I applied 2 different colours of distress inks Weathered Wood and Brushed Corduroy. To apply the inks I used a piece of Cut n Dry foam and just randomly rubbed them in places directly on the card blank front. I then sprinkled/flicked water over the card front and dabbed dry with a piece of kitchen paper. I part stamped one of the quotes down the side of the card, stamped the main image and stamped a quote at the bottom of the card. I stamped my main image again on to a piece of coloured paper and cut the centre out and paper pieced over the image stamped on the card. I stamped the image again and just cut the shell out and pa...
