Cardmaking with Dot

Hi everyone,
can you believe that we are heading towards the last bit of January already?
Today I have a tutorial to share with you
using some of my favourite stamps.

Are you nice and relaxed and ready to go?

I haven't played with my Brusho's for so long and thought it might be fun to get them out again.
Using watercolour card I've sprayed it with water and sprinkled some
Brusho's onto it. Then dried.

The butterflies from Small Grungy Butterflies and words from Old Book Page were stamped onto the background.

And then the butterflies were cut out.
I like how the text adds a little extra interest to the grungy wings.

I've used the same Brusho colours to make another background and cut it down to a square.
Again, there has been stamping from Old Book Page.
For some extra interest there has been some stenciling with Distress Ink.
I've also lifted some colour off with a damp piece of paper toweling to create some lighter areas.

It looked a little uninteresting, so a little grunge has been added with the splots stamp from
Gather Together and some more Old Book Page, in black ink.
I think this tiny stamp is one of my new favourite stamps!
(I do have a quite a few favourites lol).
One thing that I really loooove about Rubber Dance stamp sets is all the
extra little stamps that come in the sets.
A little black soot DI has been added around the edges too.

A word from Journal Words was added along with the butterflies.
This is now my center piece.
I chose the word Create for a couple of reasons, one is because that is what we do when we play.
And the other reason is because of the font on this word.  I was able to add a little orange to the center of the letters.  It changed the whole look of the word!
A little colouring with pencils was added to the wing to make them
stand out a little more agaist the background.

Now for the background piece.
I mixed some brusho's with a little water on my craft sheet and swiped my card through it.
And dabbed some more drops from the craft sheet.
This is that same as what you would do with DI's.
A little random stamping of Old Book Page and some stenciling and this was enough.

It still looked a little plain to my eye, so I've gone in with some stenciling and black ink into a couple of corners, added some cotton and a couple more words.
Some more splots from Gather Together in an orange archival was added to even out the colour in the background.  Plus, it was fun to keep playing.
I ran out of black cotton too!  Never mind.

An absolutely gorgeous card Dot. The colours are fabulous and love how you included all those little details. Think I might have to break out the Brushos again!
