Christmas Cards With Textured Christmas Flowers With Video Tutorial By Gerry

Hi lovely Rubber Dance friends, it's Gerry on the blog today and I have two Christmas cards with Rubber Dance Textured Christmas Green and some fun Nuvo Shimmer Powder Techniques. The beautiful stamps combined with some amazing shimmer make these cards great for your Christmas snail mail.

In the video I show how you can make the background with the Shimmer Powders very easy and with lots of texture. And I use the same colours with a pink added to colour the images using a brush and I walk you through the complete process. So be sure to watch today's video to see all techniques in action.

I have done more video's using Rubber Dance Stamps Textured flowers and Arty Hearty combined with Shimmer Powder and it's super easy to work with and always gives a gorgeous result. If you want more inspiration you can watch the Easy Mixed Media Cards with Shimmer Powder video. If you haven't seen that yet, make sure to check it out.

I used the new Rubber Dance Textured Christmas Green with Nuvo - Shimmer Powder - Green Parade and Catherine Wheel to make the backgrounds on both cards.

I used Craft Perfect Ultra Smooth Card for both the backgrounds and the flowers. I added the powder in the corners and let the colour move first and used a Nuvo - Nylon Brushes  to spread the colour a bit. I also used the same brush and powder on the work surface to make some splats.

Here is the finished background in red with the added stamped and embossed flower and stars.

I coloured the stamped and embossed flowers with the shimmer powders and I added Nuvo - Shimmer Powder - Cherry Bomb to make the pink-green flowers. The Rubber Dance Textured Christmas Green are great to fussy cut too.

Here you can see the fun texture with the added holly along the edges from the same stamp set.

Here you can see the flower up close with the Nuvo - Jewel Drops - Honeysuckle I added to finish the card with some dimension.

I stamped some holly on the backgrounds with the same embossing ink and silver embossing powder I used for the flowers.

I stamped a flower on the other background and some stars along the edge and I embossed them with the same gold embossing powder.

Here you can see the other card up close. I added the backgrounds with the flowers to green and red note cards. I finished this card also with some Nuvo - Glitter Drops - Honey Gold for some extra sparkle and dimension.

I hope you are inspired to make your own shimmery watercolour cards. Thanks for stopping by and make sure to keep on crafting!
