Upcycling ► Majo

Image
Hello my friends, It’s Majo here today to show what a neat little present you can create with an old tin can and the awesome Butterfly stamps. I started by creating my Master board, using Distress Oxides *Spun Sugar*, *Bundled Sage*, *Antique Linen* and *Tumbled Glass* together with a lot of water, making sure to dry all layers very good in between. I used   a stencil for more texture and stamped the Textured Flowers in different sizes, ready to go. I cut a panel to fit the size of the tin can and stamped the butterflies with Black Archival Ink and 13 words of the "Mix a sentiment" set with Distress Ink *Bundled Sage* to stay in my range of colors. I pressed all four pads on my worksheet and colored the butterflies by just taking off the color with a brush and some water. I just love it when things go together smoothly. This is my finished panel ....    And here are some close ups of the beautiful b...

Art journal page with Funny Fungi by Saadia Nawaz

Image
Hi Everyone, Saadia here with an art journal page. I hope you like it. Rubber Dance stamps provided me the stamps to work with, but the opinions I share here are my own. I made this journal page in a Dylusions Dyalog. I sprayed Dylusions ink sprays on to my craft mat, lightly sprayed it with water and then dipped Dyalog's page in that ink and water mixture. Dried this with a heat tool. Next step was background stamping with  Art defined  and  Grungy stuff  stamp sets. I stamped the  Funny Fungi  images on a white cardstock. I colored and fussy cut them. Glued them on to the journal page with matte gel medium. Added a border around the page with  Doodle border 2  stamps. Finished the page by adding a quote from  Small Grungy Butterflies  stamp set. That's all for now. A reminder that we have a challenge that goes all month on our face book page which you can find here . It is always ANYTHI...

Halloween tag with Textured Mushrooms

Image
Hi there,  its Astrid again, with a Halloween tag, to show you everything is possible for Halloween with the right colours. I used a normal tag and glued some paper on it, then I put Distress Oxide Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin and Vintage Photo on it, and the edges with Walnut Stain. The Ruler is paper from Tim Holtz. And the bone hand too. I used the Textured Mushrooms stamp set. The leaves dies is from my stash. The poison, warning and the spider are from internet. I hope you like it. Astrid

Things With Wings Art Journal Page by Dot

Image
Hi everyone, I hope all is well where ever you are.  The sun is shining here and it is going to be a beautiful day. I've an Art Journal page to share with you and a look at how my thoughts went as it all came together. My art journal is a ring binder one so it allows me to remove the pages, which I love. It starts off a little bit of a mess, but it does come together in the end. Are you ready to follow my thinking? Some might say that that might be a dangerous thing. Here we go ... Thought 1:  Just slap some colour onto the page Dot!  I've used paint for this and then removed some of it through a stencil before it dried. Thought 2:  Wow, that's a bit bright, knock it back with a lighter colour Dot!  I've added a bright yellow (deciding to stick with this month's colour theme) and then added some stamping. Gosh, the writing is crooked! I'll cover that later. Thought 3:   Dot, you really need...

Spooky Halloween Tag by Evelyn

Image
Hello lovely Rubber Dancer, it´s Evelyn today! I admit, I am not a Halloween lover, but sometimes I like to make something a bit spooky and dark. So I made a tag in classic Halloween colors with some gold and silver. I used a tag from a packaging, gessoed it and put a generous amount of crackle paint on top. When dry, I painted the surface with orange acrylic paint, added a coat of weathered wood crackle glaze and dryed it. On top of this I painted different acrylic paints (purple, orange, umbra, black, ultramarine blue) and for a little drama with gold acrylic paint. Well, the crackling didn´t work that good this time, but I guess, the reason is, that I was too impatient. Now I stamped on the background in brown and black with the following stamp sets: Grungy boarders Grungy stuff  and Twiggy Leaves and with grey ink  Mix a Sentiment The vocal image, the raven from the stamp set Nesting , I stamped on tissue paper, tore it out and glued it with m...
