A Wintery Card by Donna Gray

Hi everyone,

It's Donna here today and as the nights get longer and there is a chill in the air my thoughts turn to the more Wintery themed side of things hence my card for you today ;)

I drew a circle and cut it out from a sticky note pad (make sure you still have some of the sticky side still on the circle after cutting of course). I used this as a mask for the moon so I could add Distress Inks in two shades of blue for a dusky sky around it.

When you take the mask off, go around the edge of the moon with a little more Distress Ink to soften the whiteness of it.

Next step was to use the smallest of the cute snowflakes from Whimsical Winter which were randomly stamped on the background using a blue archival ink.

The star from Whimsical Summer and the trees, in both sizes, from Carved Whimsy Wood were stamped on a book page and then fussy cut and adhered to the background. I drew a little line with a black fine liner pen to 'hang' the stars from.

The finishing touches were to add a few strips of a Washi tape to 'ground' the trees and then added a sentiment from Whimsical Winter with a red Archival ink to make it pop from all the blues. I also added a touch of Stickles on the trees and stars to make them look a bit frosty too.

Hope you like my card.....brrrrr I feel cold now!!

Stamps Used:

Whimsical Winter

Whimsical Summer
Carved Whimsy Wood
