Always Sparkle - Envelope Book Tutorial by Sue
Good afternoon and happy Saturday, welcome to the weekend! It's Sue here with my envelope book.
Making your own books and journals is very popular at the moment, and I wanted to have a go. I also wanted to use supplies that I had already as it's just after Christmas and I'm already in 2022's craft budget.
So I have quite a few of these - Colour Craft lustre paints.
Loads of these - rather posh DL pearlised envelopes. I bought a box full in a closing down sale, so have a box full less 3!
And these, my favourite bright StazOn inks. So to work (well play really, I'm making it all up as I go along)
I started by painting my envelopes with the paints, then added some stencilling in a contrasting colour.
I've used totally different colours so that I've got a choice of colours for my toppers.
I've used metallics on this one and they are really nice!
For the 'in between' envelopes I've used my favourite inks and dabbers for very quick and easy coverage.
Next it was time to add some background stamping. I've used stamps from the Round In Circles plate, and Vintage Script (ATC)
This is how the envelopes join together. They're self seal so you just stick the sticky flap inside the next one. This made colouring the 'dabbed' ones interesting, as you coloured one side to match one painted envelope, and the other to match another, so that when you flipped it open the two 'pages' went together.
This is how it looks when it's all joined together. I've not inked all of the envelope as the topper will cover most of it. You can just keep adding to it by adding a painted and a dabbed envelope.
When I think it's full enough I will just make a 'dabber' envelope page in yellows and greens to match the front page, then I can seal it all up with the sticky part of the front envelope!
For the front cover I've stamped and embossed Merry Magpie and coloured him with sparkle pens. I've also stamped and embossed the sentiment from Something Wonderful, together with the numbers from Pick A Number.
You still have 4 days to join in with our current colour/and/or Make it Vintage theme, so I hope you join us.

Loving all kind of envelope books made from scratch, that's so fun to do. Yours is very lovely, it looks quick to create combining several easty and fun techniques (thanks for the process :)), and the cover gorgeous!!
