Penguins Playing

Hi everyone,
I hope you have enjoyed the Christmas and New Year season and are raring to go in 2018.
The best part of having stamps is just having fun with them!
So my cards today are all about having fun.

The Playful Penguins have been catching my eye for some time.
After making one card, the penguins kept looking at me - so I made another one!
I couldn't decide which one to post so I'm sharing BOTH cards with you today.

The background for this was super easy - it was some scrap card from playing with my gelli plate.
Now it's fair to say that I really have no idea what I'm doing when I use my gelli plate, so everything is accidental.  I like it that way though, it's fun to just enjoy the process and to not over-think it.

Then it was as simple as adding some stenciling, embossing and stamping.  The penguins were stamped onto some scrap card left over from playing with distress oxides, and cut out. The penguins were defined a little with some water colour pencils.
The snowballs from Whimsical Winter were ideal for the young penguin to stand on ...
and the sentiment for this is from African Animals.

For this card I couldn't resist a little rebellion ... I'm a 60's child so every now and then that little rebel in me pops out.

Again, I've used some scrap card from using my gelli plate.  Added some embossing and stamping. The large penguin is also from scrap card. And to finish, the baby penguins were stamped onto plain white card and then added a little hint of colour with a gray water colour pencil.
The sentiment is from the Adore Me set and the snowflakes are from Whimsical Winter.

It's amazing what you can do with a little scrap card and some fun stamps!

I hope I've inspired you to have fun with your stamps and to check out your scraps to see how you can use them.
