Mixed Media Monthly Challenge meets Rubber Dance!


Hi everyone!

This month we here at Rubber Dance are proud to sponsor the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge! They define 'mixed media' as artwork using more than one medium (easy enough, right?), and any kinds of projects are welcome.

Their challenge for October is to use these happy colours:



Being their sponsor this month, we have sent their team some Rubber Dance stamps for inspiration makes. The stamps they have used are: Funny Fungi, Handsome Hedgehog, Merry Magpie, and Snazzy Squirrel, and you can see their makes over at their challenge blog.

We decided to do the same,  so here's some inspiration from our own teamies.

Hello everyone and welcome to a new month and a brand new challenge here at the Rubber Dance blog!  For most of us up here in the north, June is the first month of summer and with summer come flowers in bright and happy colours. CASology Challenge #213: Stitch - Card by Bibi

The cue word at the CASology challenge this week is STITCH, so without further ado - here's my card: Stamps used (all from Rubber Dance): Giraffe , Mannequin from Sew Sweet ,  X stitches from Stitch & Frame . Stamped with Archival Ink (coffee), coloured in with Distress inks (tea dye and mermaid lagoon). After all, fall/autumn is all around us (here in the north, anyway), and we do love its glorious colours! We hope you do, too, when you create an entry (or three) for our October Challenge: Did you know that "fall" is an Old English word? It replaced the word 'harvest' in the early 1600s as more people started moving into cities. City dwellers began to use the phrase 'fall of the leaf'' and, over time, the phrase was shortened to fall. Surprisingly, etymologists don’t know where the word "autumn" comes from. It was used as far back at the 1300s (by Chaucer), and Shakespeare often used the word, too. As English spread to the New World, the common season names split as well and today, American English uses the word fall while British English
