Hi everyone. I am back today with another Handsome Hedgehog card for you. Last time I toyed with the idea of using different mushrooms in the background as an after thought. So this time I thought it might be fun to bring this idea to life. You can see the other Handsome Hedgehog card here. The 2 cards look totally different. The mushrooms that have been added into the background are Funny Fungi . I think they go well with the zentangle image of Handsome Hedgehog . Here are some more pics for you showing the background and close ups. The background has been made using alcohol inks and a stencil on a gel plate. As I like to fiddle and relax as I craft, my pencils were used to add some more colour highlights and to add more depth.   There are some white patchy parts on the background which often happens with gel printing. This helped me decide where to place my images so that more of the colourful background would show through. The background was quite busy and full of colour so...

 Hello everyone, welcome to a fun tutorial using the super cute   Handsome Hedgehog  stamp. He is such a beautiful little character and he has come out today to show you his home. In hindsight I can see how it would've looked absolutely amazing with a few large mushrooms masked  behind the hedgehog. Funny Fungi , Fun-gie Mushrooms or even Textured Mushrooms would've been great as a backdrop. Are you ready to see how this was made? Here we go. I had a plain gel print which I thought would look great as  a background. Handsome Hedgehog  was stamped using a stamping press so that the detail wasn't missed on the paint background. With the left over ink on my stamp, I stamped him onto some photo copy paper and cut out a mask for later. The wood and leaves were easy choices to colour in. But what colour to make the flowers? Hello Rubber Dance fans.  October is here and it's one of my favourite months of the year.  Along with December, cos that's Christmas of course.  And January, cos a new start is always exciting.  February is also pretty cool, can be wild, but it's short and there's all that love around!!  Oooohh, and don't forget April, that's my birthday month so nuff said.  And I quite like June and July and August too, cos we should be able to soak up the sun.  Hmmmmm sunshine......!!!!  OK, so I have a thing for a lot of months, but October always makes me think of crisp leaves, bright colours and blue skies on frosty days.  And hedgehogs.  Gotta think about the hedgehogs......... Hello everyone! Today I have a tutorial for you, giving an example on how you can combine  your Rubber Dance stamp sets and create your very own quirky characters. This is the art journal page I created. A tip is to take out your stamps, let your imagination flow and just stamp on a scrap  piece of paper without masking or anything - just to see if you find a useful combination. This is what my scrap paper looked like... Here´s the steps: Glue down a piece of gelli printed paper with gel medium (or use pattern paper / make your own background) Stamp the owl from Carved Fox & Owl with a permanent ink, I used Versafine Onyx black. Mask off the owl and stamp the feathers from the Dreamcatcher twice. Draw a pencil line to make a fat little body to the owl, and when happy fill in the line with black Posca pen (or another permanent marker). Draw the feet, nothing too complicated - it just adds to the quirkyness...

Hello! It´s Melina here on this Technique Thursday. Hope you are all fine and are up for some cardmaking! Today I played with my round Gel press printing plate to make some  card backgrounds. Here below you can find my video tutorial. I didn´t use all of the printed backgrounds for this post,  but you will see them come to use later :) Rubber Dance stamps used for these two cards: Handsome Hedgehog Snazzy Squirrel Both these stamp sets are one solid image. In the video you can see how I have  cut them apart to be able to use parts of the stamps more easily.  Yes!
