This Town Is My Town - Art journal page

Hello my crafty friends, it's Anita from the Design Team here today, and today I want to show you a art journal page.

I have called my page "This town is my town - Discover".

This month's Challenge here at Rubber Dance is to use the colours Blue, Red and White, with optional theme Frosty Winter.

My art journal page was based in our challenge's colours, but whether it is winter or not, it's not so easy to say :-)

First I used a brayer and rolled on some paint on my page. Then I made some patterns on my page by gluing down some bits of paper here and there.

I used my Gelli plate and made some design paper in the colours red, blue and white.

Then I stamped the houses from Textured Houses set on my Gelli printed papers.  I also stamped a few houses on a old book page.

With my paint brush I dry painted a little gesso and some blue at the top of my page then I fussy cut all the houses and glued them down on my page with Modge Podge.

I stamped the birds on the top of my page

I used a Ink pencil and drew around all the houses and used my waterbrush to achieve some shadow.

I stamped that little man, the sun and the word "discover" and sprayed the page with Perfect Pearls for some shimmer.

This is my town, well almost. I think this city reminded me a little bit about Bryggen in Bergen, which is part of my hometown. What do you think?

Thank you for visiting. I hope you will join this month Challenge. There are still a few days left.

Hugs, Anita

Super cool! There are certainly many things to discover in your town! I clicked on the main image to see an even larger version - so many details!
You know I love The Textured Houses stamps and it's always fun to see how differently we all use them. Stamping the houses on Gelli printed papers is such a good idea - no need for colouring them in one by one. Quick and easy - with a lovely effect! I also love the ones you stamped on book pages, nice contrast to the colourful houses.
Thank you for sharing, Anita ♥
Love the build up of your Journal page, using Gelli plate backgrounds works perfectly with those stamps. Your attention to detail is fabulous, what a lovely town xx
Ooooh beautiful!! I absolutely adore those houses!
