Oh yes!! Christmas is coming closer!!

Hello again, my dear friends of Rubber Dance! My name is Gabriele from Art-a-tag and I am a Mixed Media artist from Germany.  Please follow me on the next step of our exciting journey using the fantastic Rubber Dance Art stamps.

I am so thrilled, when I look at those beautiful cards and projects created by the Rubber Dance Design Team. Most of my colleagues are very experienced and skilled stampers and I learn a lot from them. I must say, it is not as easy as it looks!!! I always struggle with the lack of material and those cute machines, that do all kinds of fantastic cut outs, embossing and things I might not even know. And all those fantastic embellishments!! Sometimes I feel like a child being jealous about other kids' toys. So I have to think of other solutions to keep things interesting.

I have huge stacks of magazines for decoration, homes and gardens and such with beautiful photographs in it - I am glad I have a tolerant hubby, because I hoard tons of them. But they give me wonderful material for collages - for free! So I decided to collage my Christmas tags and I think they came out wonderful! I like the variety.

I used tags with finished backgrounds from my stash, ripped some photos out of my old magazines and completed with Rubber Dance stamps and some golden paint.

I stamped the pine twig in teal blue and embossed "Happy Holidays" in black. The background is acrylic paint and the magazine clip works very well with the background colours. Some golden accents with acrylic paint.

Here again an acrylic background, the stars are punched from a magazine, the fir branch is embossed in gold and the writing embossed in black.

Background acrylic paint, magazine clip and "Peace on Earth" embossed in black and a strip of washi tape.

This background is created with Adirondack Color Wash inks. Very beautiful and interesting background, but acrylic paint sinks into it, when not secured with a fixative. The embossing with white powder is no problem.

The embossing here - fir twig and quote -  is in gold, but it does not show very well in the photo. It has a beautiful shine.

No embossing here, the quote is stamped on brown paper and collaged. The stars are punched from a magazine photo and the pine twigs are stamped with teal blue.

Supply list:

Thank you so much, Gabriele. I LOVE your tags!! Using magazine clippings is a great idea and your tags turned out bjuuutifully! I love that they have so many differnt colours, not necessarily the typical Christmas colour combinations. Nice to see that you have gotten the hang of embossing. Quite fun, isn't it? :-)

Thank you so much, Bibi! As I love collages, it was only a matter of time, until I tried them on tags. And yes, embossing is really useful sometimes and a lot of fun!
